Sunday News:

Northwestern vs. Minnesota - 7:00 pm ET - Big Ten Network

In addition to our recap, there are pieces concerning last night's loss to Dartmouth on goprincetontigers.com, in the Trentonian and the Trenton Times and on dartmouthsports.com.

SportsProf shares some of his favorite Pete Carril tales.

In addition to their game story, the Trentonian has a separate story about the naming of Carril Court.

A day late, but the Trenton Times piece about the Harvard game has shown up on-line.

Marquette pulled away late from Georgetown (14-11). The Hoyas need to win their final four regular season games to finish at .500 in Big East play.

Strong guard play helped Richmond (14-13) win its third straight, 65-58 over Charlotte.

The nightmare is over! For the first time in 44 tries, Denver (13-14) tasted victory on the road. The Pioneers beat Arkansas State by 20.

Oregon State (13-13) shot an unreal 70.8% from the floor in the second half, defeating Cal, 65-54. Oregon Live thinks Craig Robinson has sewn up the Pac-10 Coach of the Year award.

Northwestern visits Minnesota tonight.

Princeton recruit Mack Darrow had 14 points and nine boards, but Barrington lost for the 21st time this season.

Around the Ivy League: Cornell (18-8 / 8-2) demolished Brown (7-17 / 1-9), 85-45. Yale (11-13 / 6-4) came back from nine down with 14 minutes to play, picking up a 57-49 win over Columbia (11-13 / 6-4). Pete Carril press conference.

Coach Pete Carril:

Before this evening's dedication of "Carril Court," former Princeton head coach Pete Carril met the media, answering a far-reaching assortment of questions with even farther-reaching responses.

The entirety of this 25:00+ press conference can be heard above. The action starts before the first official querry, with Carril already talking about the last time he was in Caldwell Field House.

Dartmouth 66 Princeton 63.

Box Score

Postgame audio - Coach Sydney Johnson, Douglas Davis & Dan Mavraides:

One night after surviving at the horn against Harvard, it was Princeton who missed a tying shot at the end of regulation, as the Tigers fell 66-63 to Dartmouth. Dan Mavraides curled for a three pointer with under a second left, but could not convert the look.

Alex Barnett, the Ivy League's leading scorer, started the game 0-4 from the field, but finished with 22 in the final 26 minutes for the Big Green and was 7-7 at the free throw line, giving Dartmouth a one point lead with :47 remaining and making two additional pairs to hold off the Tigers.

Mavriades’ 19 led Princeton. Douglas Davis scored all 16 of his points in the second half.

"We gave up 66 points, the most any [Ivy] team has scored in this gym all year. We were awful defensively," Princeton coach Sydney Johnson said, clearly disappointed by how his team played on defense.

"Beginning, middle, end - we were awful."

Manor 58 Mercer 57.

Postgame audio - Coach Howie Levy:

Mercer's season came to an end with a one point loss to Manor in the first round of the Region XIX tournament.

Despite playing with a defensive enthusiasm that had not been evident the other three times I saw the Vikings in action, the Blue Jays' outside shooters were able to find enough space for timely baskets in the second half. Mercer's 4-5 lesser defensive possessions did them in.

The Vikings trailed by 10, 33-23 late in the first half, but a 9-0 run that spanned intermission got the home team back in it and Mercer took the lead by one with under nine minutes to go.

Todd Jones' open three point shot with :40 remaining that would have tied the score at 55 was off the mark and Stefan Thompson sealed the win for Manor with two free throws in the final 10 seconds.

A three point shot from the near corner at the buzzer provided the final margin.

The Vikings (13-15) finished their season with five straight losses.
