Cornell vs. Buffalo - 7:00 pm ET
Vermont vs. Dartmouth - 7:00 pm ET

Oregon State vs. Hofstra - 10:00 pm ET

Couldn't find much in the way of game previews before I jumped in the car to Raleigh, save for this capsule in the News & Observer and something on Backing The Pack. I'll add additional links if they appear later this morning.

The leader of the Big 10 champion Northwestern soccer team mentions Princeton and Michigan State showed interest in having him walk on to play basketball.

A forward headed to FDU was apparently also being recruited by the Tigers among others.

Oregon State hosts Hofstra tonight.

Around the Ivy League: Brown (1-2) dropped a two point decision to Manhattan. Pulling away in the second half, Harvard (2-0) defeated Holy Cross 73-64. Quinnipiac outmuscled Yale (1-1) by an 68-62 count.

Know! Your! Foe! - NC State.

Princeton's heads on the road for the first time this season when the Tigers visit NC State on Wednesday evening. To provide you with greater sagaciousness on the new look Wolfpack under first year coach Mark Gottfried, I exchanged emails with writer and podcaster James Curle of the web site Riddick & Reynolds for the second Know! Your! Foe! of the year.

If you cover a team the Tigers will face down the line, let us know. We'd love to talk with you.

Tuesday News:

Brown vs. Manhattan - 4:00 pm ET - NIT
Harvard vs. Holy Cross - 7:00 pm ET
Yale vs. Quinnipiac - 7:00 pm ET - SNY

Ian Hummer made the Ivy League's Week 2 Honor Roll.

Is it time to panic in Princeton?

In their last game before heading to Maui, Georgetown (2-0) blew away UNC Greensboro by 41. Our friends at Hoya Prospectus crunch the numbers.

An 11-0 run midway through the second half did in Fairfield (1-1) in their home opener against Providence. Sydney Johnson said after the game that he let the school and the community down.

Denver (2-0) won on the road at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 65-58.

Davidson dropped Richmond (1-1) by 13 in North Carolina. The Spiders went a halftime-spanning 13:20 without a field goal.

Oregon State (2-0) overpowered West Alabama, 93-60. Head coach Craig Robinson was pleased with how his team handled the game.

A new Know! Your! Foe! is coming later today.

Around the Ivy League: Despite 26 points from Matt Sullivan, Brown (1-1) lost 77-68 to Albany. Furman rallied to knock off Columbia (0-2). Lions senior Noruwa Agho suffered what appeared to be a serious left knee injury in the second half. His status is unknown. Freshman Shonn Miller had 19 as Cornell (1-1) defeated Binghamton, 76-61. Penn (1-1) fell in a wild OT affair to Temple.

The last four games against NC State.

Despite having never played them at home, Princeton still holds a 5-1 all-time record versus NC State and has won each of the last five meetings dating back to the 1965 NCAA Tournament.

Today, I'm going to focus on the previous four times the Tigers have played the Wolfpack, as the two teams faced off on four occasions between 1991 and 1999.

Like in our well-received historical pieces Twelve years of season openers, Rutgers in the 2000s, The last four games against Duke and Lavietes Pavilion: Where anything could happen, will happen and probably already has happened, read on for a multi-media bonanza of words, pictures, videos and memories from this quartet of Princeton victories.

Wagner 73 Princeton 57.

Box Score : HD Box Score

Postgame audio - Coach Mitch Henderson, Will Barrett & Ian Hummer:

There is a lot of work to do, more work than any Princeton player, coach or observer had expected.

Leading 48-44, Wagner outscored the Tigers 16-0 midway through the second half and easily pulled away from an unexpectedly sloppy Princeton team.

Making their 2011-12 debut and playing their first game with Mitch Henderson as head coach, Princeton struggled with Wagner’s three guard ball pressure and committed endless turnovers of both the forced and unforced varieties. The Tigers gave away possession 15 times in the first 20 minutes and had three more gaffes on their first three possessions of the second half. By the final buzzer the turnover total reached a brutal 28.

“We were on defense for almost the entire game,” Henderson said.

Ian Hummer was able to turn 17 shots into a game high 19 points, including his first collegiate three pointer. Douglas Davis took just seven field goals and added 12 in defeat.

For the Seahawks, Tyler Murray led three players in double figures with 15.
