Wednesday News:

Duquesne vs. Richmond - 7:00 pm ET

Princeton coach Sydney Johnson is interviewed by The Quad, the New York Times' college basketball blog.

Pete Carril wasn't at the ceremony last night to induct he and Gary Walters into the Berks Basketball Hall of Fame, but his presence was still felt.

The remarkably wonky Trenton Times web site finally spit out the article on Saturday night's Columbia/Princeton game.

In a surprise to no one, Will Venable and Chris Young are both on the San Diego Padres' spring training roster. Young reports to Arizona on Friday, Venable on Monday.

Mercer (12-12) fell by three at home to Burlington.

Losers of four straight in conference play, Richmond hosts Duquesne.

The NYT interview mentions 8 Ivy alumni coaching Division I, of whom 5 went to Princeton.

* Is he mistakenly counting Carmody? There are Coaches Johnson, Scott, Mooney and Robinson...who is the fifth?

* The only Ivy alumni I can think of are McCaffery at Siena and Jeff Jackson at Furman. Who else is out there that I'm missing?

The five Princeton alums are Johnson, Mooney, Scott, Robinson and Thompson.

Head coach of your Hartford Hawks...

Dan Liebovitz - Penn '96.

I don't know how one forgets Coach Thompson. Temporary insanity?

I would never have gotten Liebovitz.

It is a good thing that a princetonbasketball.com member and I put together an Excel file of all D-I coaches' alma maters earlier this season! Did not expect it to pay off so soon. - JS

I would think that around the country at programs that are doing poorly, Sydney Johnson is already on the list of desirable coaches.

And rightfully so. His impact on the program has been unbelievable. And the guys on the team seem to love playing for him.

As I wrote earlier, is it too early to start a "Keep Sydney Johnson in Princeton" program?
