Complete 2011-12 Plus/Minus numbers.

To wrap up the season statistically, the Tiger athletic department was nice enough to send along this year's complete plus/minus numbers. I've generated my own Ivy-only and DI-only plus/minus data in Excel out of that document.

The first of five charts shows the number of minutes played across the 32 games this season and the difference in points scored by Princeton while each player was on the floor versus points allowed by the Tigers during the same span.

The second chart shows the same information for non-conference games only, followed by non-conference versus DI opponents, Ivy-only data and postseason-only data.

I've also broken down +/- per 40 minutes for all pertinent players and added Net/40 numbers ("Roland Rate") with inspiration from Hoya Prospectus. This data has been split into non-conference, Ivy-only and postseason-only as well.

T.J. Bray, Douglas Davis, Ian Hummer, Mack Darrow and Patrick Saunders, who were +71 in 242:37 of play. This combination played 45 minutes more than any other five.

That second-most used combo was Bray, Davis, Hummer, Connolly and Saunders, +24 in 197:06.

The second-most successful lineup? Bray, Davis, Hummer, Darrow and Denton Koon (+36 in 81:30).

The least successful five?:

It will be interesting to see if Mack Darrow, the most efficient player on the team, can continue to be beloved by the numbers as a senior. Darrow played 21.5 minutes/game in 2011-12 and I'd expect that number to rise.

If you want to compare these numbers with midway through Ivy play, you can do so here.

If you want to compare these numbers with the end of the non-conference slate, you can do so here.

If you want to compare these numbers with 10 games in, you can do so here.

Mack Darrow--efficient as well as entertaining. I'm glad his numbers back up the visual evidence that he's a very good basketball player.

I'm surprised Connolly came out so low, because it seemed to me that he helped the team out a lot when he could stay on the floor. And he seemed to have opponents' attention, as when Evansville kept driving at him to try to get him in foul trouble.

Hummer's efficiency is startling given all the minutes he played and the fact that the team lost a fair number of games during the year when he was out there. It's kind of scary because it says they really were poor when he wasn't on the floor. That kind of dependence always makes me nervous, although Hummer is the kind of player you want to depend on if you have to.
