Congratulations to the radio voice of Princeton basketball, John Sadak, who was named 2009 Delaware Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

Basketball U. stole a bit of my thunder from what I was planning to write next week with a "Trendspotting" piece on Princeton that looks at the 2009-10 Tigers from a few different statistical perspectives.

Denver travels to Louisiana-Monroe.

Richmond hosts La Salle.

#6 Purdue visits Northwestern.

Oregon State welcomes Arizona State to Corvallis.

Princeton recruit T.J. Bray scored 29, including a tie-breaking three with 80 seconds left as Catholic Memorial won 67-61 at Arrowhead.

Future Tiger Ben Hazel had 20, including five three pointers, in Good Counsel's WCAC victory over St. John's.

Rush The Court checks in on the Ivy League.

Around the Ivy League: Brown (7-11 / 1-0) opened conference play with a win over Yale (6-12 / 0-1) in New Haven, 75-66.

Princeton's statistical averages don't tell the whole story.

The defense has been fairly consistent, except when overmatched against Cal, but the offense has been feast or famine.

Five very good offensive games: CMU, Lafayette, UNCG, St. Joe's, Marist.

Five very bad offensive games: Army, GW, Rutgers, Monmouth, Wagner with two ugly wins despite the struggles.

Three decent offensive games: Manhattan, Cal, Maine.

There are five players on the team who might score 16 or more or might score 4 or less on any given night, so every game Johnson has to figure out who is on and who is not and which matchups are working.
