I talked with former Tiger Matt Sargeant last October about his entrance into the coaching ranks. "If we won the league this year it would be shocking to other people. Not to me, but to other people in the Orange County girls basketball landscape," he said then. Well, Sargeant's Lady Griffins of Los Alamitos High School won their first ever Sunset League championship Tuesday night. They finished the regular season 9-1 in conference and 21-5 overall.

Mitch Henderson may not have remembered during this week's interview, but as a reader noticed, Henderson was part of a Princeton team that made seven straight three pointers in 1998.

The Trentonian and the Daily Princeton preview tonight's contest.

Fairfield (15-10) made it five straight with a 61-44 victory over St. Peter's. The Stags' game against Manhattan scheduled for Saturday afternoon has been postponed until Monday night.

Snatching a school record 22 steals, Denver (14-8) topped Seattle, 72-55.

Mercer (17-8) fell at Burlington, 58-53.

Just read the Sargeant bit. How about suggesting to him he watch some of Banghart's team in action on GoPrincetonTigers. That will
certainly underline his coaching plan and demonstrate that philosophy in spades. Perhaps he should call Courtney and compare notes. Show his team some of the Princeton women's films?

How about expanding your coverage to our Princeton women. I look forward to watching them play as much as I do the men.

That's a very good suggestion. I'll have to ask Matt how much he's seen of the Princeton women.

Unfortunately, because I can not be in two places at once, the focus of this site is unlikely to change. There are a number of great ways to keep tabs on Tiger WBB action out there.

I asked Matt and he said he hasn't been able to pay attention to the Tiger women since graduation. That will probably change if he keeps coaching girl's basketball though...
