Chris Young pitched six steady innings and Scott Hairston's three run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Padres a thrilling 5-3 victory over Pittsburgh. San Diego now leads Philadelphia by 2.5 games in the National League Wild Card race.
