Friday News:

MCCC vs. Monroe - 5:00 pm ET
Fairfield vs. Siena - 7:00 pm ET - SNY

Mets GM Sandy Alderson spoke with Chris Young over the holidays. Young could re-sign with New York under the right circumstances.

Grantland has a long piece on Georgetown up. It's got nothing on this transcript of an interview with former Hoya Roy Hibbert, though.

There have been plenty of updates on 2012 Princeton recruits Hans Brase and Michael Washington, Jr. but little on 7'2" center Edo Lawrence. I did some digging yesterday and the best I could find was this report on a game from mid-December.

Denver (12-3) prevailed 53-50 at Arkansas State.

Cracking 90 points for the seventh time this season, Oregon State (11-4) defeated Cal in Corvallis.

Fairfield visits Siena tonight.

Big Apple Buckets' first power poll of 2012 is out. Princeton moves up one spot in the rankings. For the record, I had Wagner in first and the Tigers sixth overall.

Siena upsets Fairfield, 73-60. Saints' requests for next year's schedule: Richmond, Denver, Oregon State, Georgetown.

I only got to see about 90 seconds of this game, but based on the following line from Siena Saints Blog I'm curious to know if the game plan versus Fairfield was similar to the one against Princeton:

"Siena excelled on the defensive end, allowing the Stags to shoot just 7 for 40 (17.5%) from two-point range. Fairfield shot 13 for 29 from three."

The Tigers were 13-31 from three and 8-24 inside the arc in Albany.
