BENASQUE, Spain - Guard Brian Stafford (Walnut Creek, Calif.) scored 25 points, while guard Chase Hallam (Mesquite, Texas) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, sparking an 81-79 victory over Lobe Huesca on Saturday evening.
The game was back-and-forth, as neither team led by more than seven points.
Guard Travis Hallam (Mesquite, Texas) scored 13 points, four more than his career high at Denver, and center Trevor Noonan (Broomfield, Colo.) added 10 points.
The game was played in Benasque, Spain, northeast of Huesca in the Pyrenees. The small gym was packed with a capacity crowd of more than 500 fans, as the Second Division team offered complimentary admission.
Denver will go for its third-straight win, when the Pioneers take on Cajasol Sevilla of ACB (Spain's top division) in Andorra on Monday night.
