Kareem Maddox will wear #2 this season.

Sounds like Brendan Connolly could really come into his own this year. -18 worries me though. Since muscle weighs more than "baby fat" (to quote you in an earlier post), -18 might not leave him that much stronger. I don't know much about interpreting weight in the 250+ range, though.

I was actually very happy when I saw this number, as it confirmed what my own two eyes suspected.

You don't lose 18 pounds sitting on a couch all summer not playing basketball.

goprincetontigers now has freshman uniform numbers and a couple of other changes

5 - Bray
14 - Clement
41 - Edwards
12 - Hazel
25 - Noonan

Returning players with changes:

24 - Barrett (from 12)
44 - Connolly (from 52--even his uniform number is lower!)
32 - Darrow (from 41)
Maddox is listed as 2/55. I trust that is not a Gaedelesque fraction, but not sure what to make of it. Deciding between those two numbers?

In regard to the increased heights for some players--how much of that is actual upward growth vs "creative accounting"?

Stuart, thanks! Those digits weren't up an hour ago. Changes have been made above.

I've sent a question in about Maddox's # and will update when I hear back.

On an unrelated note, 41 is such a strange prime number to have in the Princeton jersey rotation.

Ps. I think some of this is actual growth and some is creative accounting. I'm 6'3" and I've noticed that I've been taller than many a Princeton player listed as an inch or two more vertical than I am.

Pps. See the note I added about Maddox above. He'll decide between two different numbers soon. Personally, I find #2 more slimming...

Stuart Schulman said,

Kareem has a chance to be the best #2 in the program's history. #55 is a much higher bar.

Don't sell Jason Briggs so short!

While we're talking numbers, I believe T.J. Bray is the first Princeton player to wear #5 since Sydney Johnson. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct.

Being 'the only player on the roster listed as a Center' makes Connolly the player to watch through the non-conference schedule. The wish is his soft hands, big size, added quickness (remains to be seen) gives us the traditional Center we must have.
