Monday News:

While the overall crowd was smaller (4,148 vs. 5,775), I did confirm that there were more students in attendance on Friday than when Princeton hosted Cornell last season. Excellent work from the Tiger undergraduates. Come back on Tuesday!

Mondays belong to the student papers. The Daily Princetonian, the Harvard Crimson and the Dartmouth write about their respective schools' performances over the weekend.

The Crimson also has a supplemental notebook piece about Friday's showdown.

Someone from Main Ingredient Lifestyle Company went to the Harvard/Princeton game and shares their positive thoughts on the experience.

On a related note: the band was the biggest it's ever been at any basketball game. Ever. There were 70 members.

Let's hope the student interest continues and escalates through the season, and maybe the regional crowd will start to get the message too.

They've only got three home games left to get it in gear!

I was impressed with the band's size, though disappointed they totaled zero on Saturday night.

I'm sure the band would have preferred to be at the Dartmouth game; unfortunately, Rensselaer's (RPI's) band came for the hockey game, so they had to be there.

So, if one school brings a band to a sport Princeton has to provide a band? This I did not know.

What if (big if) Dartmouth's band had come with the Big Green to Jadwin the same night?

It's not a hard-and-fast rule, but the Athletics Dept, and the band itself, prefer not to be upstaged by visitors at any sport.

A split band maneuvre has been used once or twice (usually in football season), but can be difficult to pull-off for lack of players or capable leaders. E.g. there was only 1 trombone and 1 tuba available on Saturday.

A small band contingent was at Baker Rink for the hockey game.
