Mike Brennan named assistant coach at American.

Former Princeton assistant coach Mike Brennan was officially named a member of the coaching staff at American University today. Brennan leaves Princeton after seven seasons as an assistant coach.

The 78th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be played tonight in San Francisco. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 pm ET. Chris Young will be waiting in the bullpen for a chance to participate, soaking it all in.

The NBA draft is tonight, and Georgetown's Jeff Green is projected to be picked in the first ten selections. Dick Jerardi of the Philadelphia Daily News feels Green should be drafted third. The Hartford Courant adds more about the future pro's fashion sense.

The Boston Globe has a feature on Dave Blatt out today.

Not much time off in the Texas League. Will Venable and the San Antonio Missions were back on the field last night. Venable was 2-4 with a walk in a 3-2 loss to Tulsa.

Chris Young returned to the mound for the first time in a week and shut down the vaunted Boston Red Sox lineup on one hit over seven innings. San Diego took a 6-1 decision.

Will Venable was involved in all sorts of action throughout Tuesday's 7-6 San Antonio victory over Corpus Christi. In addition to two hits in four at-bats, Venable was caught stealing once and picked off once.

As expected, Chris Young will appeal his five game suspension.
