Princeton to play at Penn State this season.

The last time Princeton visited State College it was a game to forget. Hopefully the Tigers will fare better on December 14th of this year versus the Nittany Lions.



Thursday News:

Jimmy Sherburne is playing in the Milwaukee Pro-Am again this summer.

It appears you can catch Will Barrett and "Gabe Lewellis" as teammates at the DelCo Pro-Am.

While Ian Hummer made the Lakers' Summer League roster, he has yet to get off the bench (a trio of "DNP-Coach's Decision" lines). Perhaps that will change in today's game against Milwaukee.

I have not been following Hans Brase closely as he represents Germany at the U-20 European Championship. Brase's squad plays France tomorrow and will finish somewhere between ninth and 12th place in the 20 team tournament.

Wishing a happy and healthy 83rd birthday to Pete Carril!

Armond Hill has joined the staff of the Los Angeles Clippers under former Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

Otto Porter drew additional praise from John Thompson III.

There's a Q&A with Fairfield head coach Sydney Johnson. It is unclear when Pitt transfer Malcolm Gilbert will be eligible to join the Stags' roster.

A reminder that Princeton recruit Spencer Weisz is playing for the United States' U-19 squad at the Maccabiah Games. The team's first contest is July 21.



Princeton heading to Las Vegas.

For the first time since a decisive December 1990 loss to then top-ranked UNLV, Princeton will play a basketball game in Sin City. Two of them, in fact.

The Tigers are taking part in the 2013 South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, reportedly facing Portland on December 20 and a TBD opponent on December 21. It seems quite possible the unknown foe is Pacific based on some deductive reasoning.



Wednesday News:

Jimmy Lane is the new head coach at Monmouth Regional High School.

The Los Angeles Lakers have invited Ian Hummer to join their Summer League team. This does not guarantee a spot on the final roster when games begin on July 12 in Las Vegas, however.

Ben Hazel and Edo Lawrence are slated to participate in the just-underway Jersey Shore Basketball League.

Last week Georgetown's Otto Porter was the third pick in the NBA draft.

A highly regarded forward will join the Hoyas in 2014.

Geoff Petrie will not be back as the Sacramento Kings' general manager. His contract expires at the end of the month.

Feel free to vote for Will Venable on your All-Star Game ballot. The polls close on July 4th. Venable may only be hitting .210 but he continues to lead the Padres in home runs. Here's video of the shot that got him into double figures for the season.

Yesterday Will Venable hit his team-leading ninth home run of the season. In the process Venable tied Moe Berg for most hits by a Princeton alum with 441.

Judson Wallace has become the master of the four point play. Wallace's FC Barcelona side and Real Madrid will play a fifth and deciding game of their ACB playoff final series on Wednesday.

Monday News:

Princeton recruit Amir Bell is ready to lead his senior season.

The exact location has yet to be announced but Georgetown will play Oregon in the Armed Forces Classic this November. Hoya head coach John Thompson III guested on ESPN 980 recently, talking about Otto Porter's draft prospects, Roy Hibbert's development and other topics.

While in town for Reunions, Craig Robinson spoke with the Daily Princetonian.

I'm guessing T.J. Bray doesn't need to see another tennis racquet for a good while.

Ian Hummer worked out with the Phoenix Suns and has at least four more workouts scheduled. This brief evaluation of Hummer's skills is a fair one.

Tiger assistant Marcus Jenkins took part in the NCAA-Black Coaches and Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence Program.



A pair of road games versus NCAA Tournament foes.

They played each other in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, now Bucknell and Butler will both face Princeton in the upcoming season.

The Tigers are slated to visit Lewisburg for the first time since a poor showing at the 2011 Legends Classic. It is fourth straight season Princeton will take on the Bison.

Earlier in November the orange and black shall play at Hinkle Fieldhouse against Brad Stevens' Bulldogs.
