A new site covering Ivy League basketball reviews Princeton's championship season.

Tickets for Princeton's game at Harvard in February are already going fast. If you're planning on making the trip I'd secure admission ASAP.

Judson Wallace scored five points as FC Barcelona won their third straight Spanish Super Cup.

Northwestern's John Shurna was named to the John Wooden Award's Preseason Top 50. Keith Wright of Harvard is also on the list.

Will Venable capped 2011 with his first career grand slam (video) as San Diego beat the Cubs 9-2. Venable hit .154 over his final 10 games of the year, lovering his season average to .246 with an on base percentage of .310. The former two sport Princeton star had 91 hits, nine home runs, 44 runs batted in and 28 stolen bases across 121 games. He dropped his strikeout total from 128 in 392 at bats last year to 92 strikeouts in 370 at bats for 2010.

Princeton is viewed as the fourth-strongest team in the New York area by Big Apple Buckets.

John Thompson III attended the Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine's annual gala. Thompson's wife Monica was honorary chair of this event.

A Minnesota point guard verbally committed to Harvard. Penn also added a big man to compliment their guard-heavy roster.

Former Princeton assistant and current Fairfield Director of Basketball Operations Martin Bahar is raising money for the 2011 Light The Night walk, which supports the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Princeton senior John Comfort makes a cameo appearance in a package on Northwestern's Drew Crawford, who along with Comfort interned at John Rogers' Ariel Investments this summer.

The Tigers' game at Drexel in December will be the home opener for the Dragons.

Georgetown head coach John Thompson III was a presenter at the Kennedy Center's "A Standing Ovation for D.C. Teachers."

10 points for Pawel Buczak in Slask Wroclaw's close loss to Turkish squad Tofas Bursa.

According to the Twitter feeds of many of the prospects to visit Cambridge last weekend, the production was productive for Harvard. Already one recruit has verbally committed to the Crimson.

Penn also picked up the services of a well-regarded guard out of Chicago.

Will Venable has been out for the last week+ due to an issue with his back.

It is unusual to see an article about a school offering a roster spot to a potential recruit, but there's indeed a piece about a forward from North Carolina and Princeton. Seeking clarification, I checked with the author to find out if said offer had been accepted. "No, not yet" was their response.

Quotes from Mitch Henderson show up in another story about how high school players can get noticed by college coaches.

Joe Scott was one of those taking advantage of a recent event where the Denver Nuggets opened their playbook to area college coaches.

Where does Georgetown fit in to the chaos of conference realignment?

Anyone with an interest in Ivy League basketball will want to keep an eye on Cambridge this weekend, with many impressive prospects visiting Harvard.

Here's the official press release announcing Princeton's 2011-12 basketball schedule.

A prospect who was planning on making an official visit to Princeton is instead going to California for college.

The Dave Blatt-coached Russian team finished in third place at EuroBasket 2011.

Butch van Breda Kolff is profiled on the Los Angeles Lakers' web site as part of a series titled "The Men Who Led The Lakers."

This document detailing how Chris Mooney runs the first 30 minutes of every practice looks nearly identical to how Pete Carril used to begin when he was coaching Princeton.

One player who will go through these drills is a forward from Louisiana who just committed to Richmond.

Aris played a pair of exhibitions in Bulgaria to open their season and Dan Mavraides scored 11 points in both of them.

Also participating in a dyad of friendlies was Landstede Basketbal. Kareem Maddox had 18 points in his team's victory over Stepco BS Weert.

Penn released their full schedule yesterday.

At long last the 2011-12 Princeton men's basketball schedule will be announced on Monday afternoon.

The fifth JTIII Foundation Community Festival is going to be held this Sunday in Washington.

A prospect who would easily become the tallest player to ever suit up for the Tigers is making an official visit to Princeton this weekend.

There is an All-Met basketball player who has Princeton and Harvard as his primary collegiate options.

Dan Geriot rounds out Princeton coaching staff.

Former Richmond center Dan Geriot has been added to Mitch Henderson's coaching staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach, replacing the departed Craig Moore.

Geriot, who graduated in June following the Spiders' run to the Sweet 16, was recently waived by the Belgian team VOO Verviers-Pepinster after suffering a knee injury.

There was a slew of content on espn.com yesterday, as Dana O'Neil wrote a piece about Mitch Henderson and another about how balance is back in the Ivy League. Elsewhere on the same site Dave Blatt, who has led a Russian team to an undefeated record at Eurobasket 2011, is profiled.

Henderson also provides advice on how recruits can get noticed as part of Varsity Ace's Recruiting 101 series.

While the addition of a home game versus Buffalo was a welcome sight on the 2011-12 non-conference schedule, one team that I was told would be making a return trip does not have Princeton on their schedule. Alas.

Georgetown coach John Thompson III is excited about his freshman class.

Is it possible the Hoyas' brawl in China was a good thing for the team?

Craig Robinson is hopeful that Oregon State can take the next step this year.

I don't think I posted previously that the Brown schedule was released.

Feeling Bullish about a second home game.

When I heard over the summer that Princeton would play Buffalo as part of their 2011-12 non-conference schedule, visions of driving by myself all the way out to western New York immediately came to the forefront.

Thankfully, that won't be a concern this season as the Tigers will host the Bulls at Jadwin Gym on November 19th.

Buffalo had a 20-14 overall record a year ago, 8-8 in MAC play. The Bulls advanced to the postseason for the third time as a DI school, bowing out in the third round of the CIT at Iona.
