Princeton vs. Arkansas, 1990 NCAA Tournament.

If I remember correctly (and I usually do), only the second half of this game was shown to the majority of the nation, so many of these plays are being seen for the first time unless you were in Austin that evening two decades ago. A great find.

Thursday News:

What teams from the past five seasons were most similar to the 2010-11 Princeton Tigers?

It shouldn't be a huge surprise that the 14-Game Tournament is already the first with an extensive draft preview of next season.

The Tigers opening with Rutgers at home and Drexel on the road? Not going to happen, but that's what the ScheduleMatic algorithm generated.

The Princeton Packet has more on Kareem Maddox's overseas signing.

You can watch more of Douglas Davis and Kit Mueller in DelCo Pro-Am summer league action here and here.

While I was on vacation the last week I updated the site's list of Princeton Tigers on Twitter, which now includes over 30 different current and former players to follow.

Finally, a Town Topics piece on Craig Robinson's son Avery, who is playing in the Princeton Summer League.

An interview with Kareem Maddox.

Last week Kareem Maddox officially signed with Dutch First Division team Landstede Basketbal for the upcoming season.

I had a chance to talk to Maddox via phone as he exited Universal Studios this evening and the 2010-11 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year told me about his impending opportunity in Zwolle. A transcript of our conversation appears after the jump.

A year without Marvin.

Today marks a year since Marvin Bressler's passing. On this anniversary I keep coming back to a quote from Rabbi Jim Diamond about Professor Bressler:

"He was a skeptic in the best sense of the term. He was not an irreverent skeptic. He was not a cynical skeptic. He was a profound and responsible skeptic."

What would Marvin would have had to say about last season, had he been here to experience it?

I think he would have gotten a big kick out of it all.

Kareem Maddox headed to Holland.

Recent Princeton grad Kareem Maddox '11 has signed with Dutch First Division team Landstede Basketbal for the 2011-12 season.

Based out of Zwolle, Landstede went 10-26 last year, 9th in the DBL.

Maddox joins Mason Rocca '00 (Italy), Judson Wallace '05 (Spain) and Konrad Wysocki '04 (Poland) as former Tigers playing professionally overseas.

A conversation with Sydney Johnson.

Sydney Johnson is a man of his word.

Back in April, when the Fairfield basketball coach left Princeton after four seasons, he privately promised me that a time would eventually come where he would be willing to field my queries about his departure.

Yesterday at a coffee shop in Mercer County, Johnson and I met up to talk.

Thinking of the many email exhanges, site comments and off-Internet conversations I had with subscribers since Johnson joined the Stags, I tried to get answers to the questions you have asked me.

The audio from our 20:00+ conversation can be found after the jump.
