Sunday News:

On the third day of the NBA Summer League, Sacramento lost by three to Golden State in overtime. Above, Coach Carril assesses his team's play. Fanhouse writes about the odd couple of Carril and Kings point guard Tyreke Evans.

A large group of friends and family are on hand in San Francisco to watch Will Venable play against the Giants this weekend. Last night they saw Venable go 1-4 at the plate as the Padres were shut down for the third straight game.

Oregon State will visit UIC this season.

The United States won the gold medal over Greece at the FIBA U19 World Championship. It was the USA's first title in this tournament since 1991. Northwestern's John Shurna played seven minutes and scored one point in the finals.

Happy Birthday, Coach Carril.

Sincerely, Jason Thompson & Tyreke Evans.

The Kings lost their 2009 NBA Summer League opener to Detroit on Carril's 79th birthday, 86-77. Georgetown's DaJuan Summers led the Pistons with 24 points.

Sacramento plays Golden State later today.

Student Interview - Dan Mavraides.

Princeton junior Dan Mavraides traveled to Greece this summer as an Athens Fellow, "the first international leadership program for outstanding U.S. undergraduate and graduate students which focuses on Greece." Mavraides is interviewed above about his experience.

(More) Brian Earl highlights.

The same video package we posted on Monday, but with clips added at the start from Princeton's 1999 NIT win over Georgetown.

Earl led the Tigers in that game with 18 points on 4-8 shooting from the field and a 7-9 evening at the free throw line.

This earns Brian his own category on the site. I'll update older posts that mention him accordingly.

Scott Greenman & Brian Earl in action.

Scott Greenman's heroics at Cornell in double OT (27 points on 10-15 shooting) and versus Yale (27 points on 8-11 shooting) during his senior year.

Brian Earl and Princeton close down William Neal Reynolds Coliseum and silence the 12,000+ in attendance with a 61-58 win in the second round of the 1999 NIT followed by footage from the Tigers' improbable comeback at the Palestra earlier in the same season. That hesitation dribble is a thing of beauty.

TigerCam: Noah Savage.

Noah Savage '08 is the subject of the latest TigerCam feature.

Monday News:

Bill Bradley (shown above in a vintage NBA public service announcement) will present the Commencement Address at Episcopal Collegiate School.

ESPN's Andy Katz reports that Robert Burke may be out as an assistant at Georgetown.

Chris Young was part of a group of San Diego Padres who visited the 14th annual Celebration of Champions' "Torch of Life" relay. The folks at Gaslamp Ball aren't crazy about some of Young's answers in a recent XX Sports Radio interview (.mp3).

Craig Robinson on Fox Sports.

An interview from late last season I had not seen before.

Gus Gabel dunk.

Enjoy a video of Princeton recruit Gus Gabel dunking through his legs.

Sean Gregory vs. David Stern.

Sean Gregory sits down with NBA Commissioner David Stern.

Oregon State returns home.

Craig Robinson and the Beavers greet the crowd waiting for them upon their return from El Paso as CBI champions.
