Almost ten minutes of footage from Princeton's 1996 NCAA game against UCLA. Hard to believe there were three future Princeton head coaches on the Princeton bench (Carmody, Thompson & Scott), plus another future Princeton head coach (Johnson) and a future Princeton assistant (Earl) on the court during the second half.
C. Young (6-3) - 3.0 IP 0 H 0 ER 2 BB 2 K 2.26 ERA. 56 pitches, 36 strikes.
A wild afternoon at Wrigley Field, as Chris Young was one of four players ejected in the top of the fourth inning following a bench-clearing altercation. Young had not allowed a base hit before being tossed. A 1-2 pitch from Young came inside on Chicago's Derrek Lee, hitting him on the wrist. Lee had words for Young on his way to first base. Young pointed at first as he responded verbally and Lee stepped out of the baseline towards Young, throwing a punch that did not connect. Young responded with a right hand that also missed and the dugouts emptied.
The Padres would grab victory on a home run in the top of the eighth inning, a 1-0 decision in a game where both teams had just two hits.
"I'm not going to talk about it, but I didn't try to hit him and it doesn't have anything to do with anything that happened in the past," Young said. "I wish I could have stayed in the game. I would have liked to have been out there to contribute to the win more."
San Antonio's modest two game winning streak ended on Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Midland. Will Venable was 1-3 for the Missions. The game was called because of rain in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and nobody out.
Two days, two Princeton victories in dunk contests. "787" wins the crown at the 4th Annual Princeton Charity Streetball Tournament! He is very fortunate he was not judged on his dancing skills.
Guess now I know what the guy who was filming my interview with Bill Bradley was using the footage for. Look for some clips from my discussion with Senator Bradley at the end of this piece. Watch more of these short films (including Jon Stewart and Bradley discussing playing at Dillon Gym) here.
We'll see how long these stay on-line, but here are a couple of "fan cam" alternate angle videos from Georgetown's 80-55 win over Belmont in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Both appear to be from late in the first half.

princetonbasketball.com was founded on April 28th, 1998 in an attempt to provide fans of the Princeton Tigers and Ivy League basketball with the best on-line source for up-to-date news and information. We have since expanded to launch a companion site, Georgetown Basketball News.
As these sites have continued to grow we have increased our coverage to include additional teams with Princeton connections - the Richmond Spiders, Denver Pioneers, Oregon State Beavers, Fairfield Stags and Mercer County Community College Vikings - plus former Tigers playing professional baseball and basketball all over the world. This site is not directly affiliated with the Friends of Princeton Basketball, Princeton University or the Princeton athletic department.
