New Recruit - Mack Darrow.

Thomas "Mack" Darrow, a versatile 6'8" senior from Barrington High School in the Chicago suburbs, has committed to Princeton. Darrow is the third publicly-announced member of coach Sydney Johnson's second recruiting class, joining Gus Gabel and Jimmy Sherburne.

New Recruit - Jimmy Sherburne.

Jimmy Sherburne, a 6'3", 185 lb senior guard, has been a four year varsity player and a three year starter for Whitefish Bay, a Division II high school located just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Last season Sherburne was named Second Team All-North Shore Conference and Honorable Mention All-Suburban Boys Basketball as he led the Blue Dukes in scoring (16.5 ppg) and assists.

In the days since word broke about his commitment to Princeton, I had a chance to speak to Sherburne's high school coach and his AAU coach about this new member of Princeton's 2009 recruiting class. Exclusive quotes and links to player evaluations can be found after the jump.

Princeton gets a commitment.

Remember the 6'7" Arizona senior who was quoted in June saying that the unofficial visit he took to Princeton was "mostly for [his] parents"? Well something must have clicked, as tonight that same young man committed to play basketball for the Tigers.

Saturday News:

Chris Young pitches for the final time this season as San Diego hosts Pittsburgh at 10:05 pm ET.

Will Venable was 2-4 at the plate in the Padres' 6-3 loss to the Pirates last night.

Three well-regarded prospects are reportedly making unofficial visits to Princeton this weekend.

When Blake Wilson left Princeton in late 2006, he was quoted that he would try and walk on at Saint Joseph's after sitting out a year. To update that story, Wilson is not on the 2008-09 Hawks roster.



Friday News:

Will Venable drove in two runs as San Diego defeated the LA Dodgers 7-5.

Tuesday News:

Will Venable had his fifth two hit game in his last six starts, as San Diego beat the Dodgers 4-0. Venable is now batting .353 as a Padre.

They're still talking about how Chris Young pitched on Sunday.

Richmond has revealed violations by its men's and women's basketball programs to the NCAA.

Two names for the recruiting radar: a 6'8" Bucks County forward who has Princeton on his list of five finalists and a 6'8" guard/forward who says Princeton is among the schools that his father says have committed to come see him work out.

Georgetown recruit Hollis Thompson will spend his senior season at De La Salle.

Cornell guard Adam Gore has torn the ACL in his left knee.
