The above screenshot comes from Rivals' wireless service, but there's no story that goes along with it. Is this Texas point guard Sydney Johnson's second recruit of the week or is there an error in the Rivals database? We're trying to find out more.
Update: According to Shaw's high school coach, "Brandon has not been offered any type of commitment from Princeton."

Will Venable was 3-5 for San Antonio as the Missions took the second game of their best-of-five with Frisco 6-1. The Missions have three chances to eliminate the RoughRiders this weekend.
Some players on the Princeton recruiting radar: 6-5 John Carrol guard Mike Maczko will take a visit to Princeton. 6-10 forward Greg Mangano from Notre Dame-West Haven has Princeton as one of five finalists for his services. Another big man, 6-10 Emerson Kampen from Indiana says Princeton and IPFW currently top his list.
"I really like those two at this moment," Kampen said. "I wouldn't say I've narrowed it down to just those two, but I really like those two a lot."

C. Young (9-6) - 4.0 IP 4 H 5 ER 2 BB 6 K 2.63 ERA. 69 pitches, 43 strikes.
Chris Young allowed two early home runs, including a fourth of the season to Tony Clark, as the Padres dropped the middle game of their series with Arizona 9-1.
"It's frustrating because I don't want it to take too long. ... Maybe my expectations have been too high," Young said. "I'm not as consistent with my location. My mechanics get out of sync and it's hard to work on it between starts. I know I can be better."
Following up on yesterday's blurb about possible recruit Brandon Shaw, here's a message board thread we turned up with a bit more information.

New England Recruiting Report is reporting that 6'7" New Hampton School forward Patrick Saunders (right) has committed to play basketball at Princeton.
Rivals has the following to say about Saunders in November of last year:
Keep an eye on New Hampton junior Patrick Saunders. The 6-foot-7 forward is a basketball player. He knows what to do with the ball when he has it. He knows what to do without it. A smart passer and a good shooter, Saunders would be a great get for a Princeton-style oriented offense. He was an efficient seven of nine from the floor to the tune of 15 points against the Patterson School.
Saunders is head coach Sydney Johnson's first publicly-known recruit.

Here is Princeton's press release about the 2007-08 basketball schedule.
"We will certainly have our work cut out for us this season,” says head coach Sydney Johnson. “Apart from playing in the Big East - which is the best conference in America - I can't imagine a tougher schedule for our team. That being said, true players want to play against the best competition and playing these caliber of programs is what Princeton basketball is all about."
Chris Mooney's Richmond team has also released its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season.
Will Venable was 0-4 on Saturday in San Antonio's 4-3 win over Arkansas. On Sunday Venable went 0-4 as the Missions took out the Travelers 11-4. Arkansas bested San Antonio 4-0 last night, with Venable going 0-4 a third time.
Two mentions of possible Princeton recruiting targets: Max Kenyi, a 6'5" Gonzaga High School swingman, has Princeton on his list. In a blog post about Harvard coach Tommy Amaker, Andrew Van Nest is discussed. Van Nest is a 6'10" forward who is considering Harvard "ahead of Penn, Princeton and Northwestern."

C. Young (9-3) - 7.0 IP 2 H 0 ER 3 BB 6 K 1.85 ERA. 116 pitches, 77 strikes.
Chris Young outperformed fellow All-Star Cole Hamels by the slimmest of margins on Thursday night in San Diego. Young pitched seven innings of two-hit shutout baseball as the Padres took the first game of their series with Philadelphia 1-0. Young has started all five of the games this season that San Diego has won with just a single run.
Faced with the same decision he had the last time Young was on the mound, manager Bud Black decided to leave Young in for the seventh inning despite a pitch count in the high nineties. Young struck out two and retired the side in order in the seventh, his 116th pitch a lazy fly ball to left field.
Will Venable was 2-4 a double and a run scored in San Antonio's 9-5 win over Frisco. The Missions are 16-9 in the second half of the season, with a 2.5 game first place lead.
Gonzaga junior center Ian Hummer is the son of former Tigers notable Ed Hummer. He's on the recruiting radar for several Ivy programs, but Princeton is not mentioned by name.
Lt. Pete Hegseth was on MSNBC's Hardball recently. Here's a transcript.

Fellow Padres starting pitcher Jake Peavy is out stumping for Chris Young on the "campaign trail."
Heck, even fellow Final Vote finalist Carlos Zambrano had the following to say:

Will Venable was 3-4 with a run scored on Monday night, but the San Antonio Missions fell 4-3 to Wichita.
