Greetings from San Francisco! I'm out here for a long weekend with my family, which means I will miss the ceremonies tomorrow and Saturday where #42 will be officially retired at Princeton University. If you're going to either event, I'd love to share your reports!

After much delay, Georgetown released their 2008-09 men's basketball schedule yesterday.



Sunday News:

C. Young (6-6) - 7.0 IP 2 H 0 ER 4 BB 5 K 4.11 ERA. 111 pitches, 66 strikes.

Chris Young threw seven shutout innings and sent the first pitch he saw at the plate in the seventh inning into the Nationals bullpen for hit his first career home run (video). San Diego beat Washington 6-1.

Georgetown coach John Thompson III was a visitor to the Padres clubhouse before the game.
