Northwestern (0-1) rallied in the second half to tie their season opener with Stanford before the Cardinal pulled away late for the 71-60 victory. The Wildcats were outrebounded by 21.
Georgetown (2-0) raced out to 12-0 and 28-7 leads against Michigan, coasting to a 74-52 win.

Georgetown (1-0) began its campaign with a methodical 68-53 victory over William & Mary. Roy Hibbert led all scorers with 23 points on 9-11 shooting. The Washington Post has more on the game.
Richmond (1-1) was squashed at the buzzer on a three point shot by Norfolk State's Tony Murphy. The Spiders gave up an 11 point lead with just over four minutes left to play, falling 72-69.
Around the Ivy League: Yale (1-0) opened their season on a good note, recording a 82-71 victory at home over Sacred Heart yesterday afternoon. Cornell (1-0) topped Lehigh 87-83. Dartmouth (1-1) was able to out-score VMI 98-87. In the last game of the night Harvard (0-2) dropped a 79-61 contest against UCSB.
