The Washington Post has more on Jeff Green's decision to stay in the NBA draft, including quotes from his college coach.

A wild afternoon at Wrigley Field, as Chris Young was one of four players ejected in the top of the fourth inning following a bench-clearing altercation. Young had not allowed a base hit before being tossed. A 1-2 pitch from Young came inside on Chicago's Derrek Lee, hitting him on the wrist. Lee had words for Young on his way to first base. Young pointed at first as he responded verbally and Lee stepped out of the baseline towards Young, throwing a punch that did not connect. Young responded with a right hand that also missed and the dugouts emptied.
The Padres would grab victory on a home run in the top of the eighth inning, a 1-0 decision in a game where both teams had just two hits.
"I'm not going to talk about it, but I didn't try to hit him and it doesn't have anything to do with anything that happened in the past," Young said. "I wish I could have stayed in the game. I would have liked to have been out there to contribute to the win more."
San Antonio's modest two game winning streak ended on Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Midland. Will Venable was 1-3 for the Missions. The game was called because of rain in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and nobody out.
Chris Young and the Padres are in Chicago this afternoon to take on the Cubs. First pitch is 1:05 pm ET.

Chris Young nearly made it through seven innings against Seattle. With the Padres holding a two run lead in the top of the seventh, two on and two out, Young hit Ben Broussard with a pitch that loaded the bases and brought the always dangerous Ichiro Suzuki to the plate. Suzuki tied the game with a single to center, the second run scoring on a extremely close play at the plate. Young's day was done and the Padres would go down 4-3 on an unearned run in the ninth.
Will Venable was 1-4 with two runs scored on Friday in a 6-3 loss to Frisco. On Saturday Venable's ten game hitting streak came to an end and Venable made his first error of the season in a 5-0 loss at home to Corpus Christi. Venable's weekend concluded with a 0-3 performance at the plate and a run scored as San Antonio fell to the visiting Hooks 4-2.

Chris Young shut down the Pittsburgh Pirates for the third time in as many starts against the team that drafted him and drove in a run with a single to center field as part of a 9-0 Padres victory. Young was replaced at the start of the bottom of eighth inning after the Padres scored five runs in the top of the frame to expand their two run advantage.
"This is the third time since the beginning of last season that we have seen him and we've not been able to do much at all with him," Pittsburgh manager Jim Tracy said. "There is deception with him obviously, and there is something with him that we're not seeing.
Last night Will Venable became the first member of the San Antonio Missions since 2002 to hit for the cycle. Venable laced his first home run of the season in the seventh inning, a three run shot that put the Missions in front 4-3. A double in the top of the ninth completed this rare feat. After seeing his average drop to .262, Venable is 8-14 in his last three games.
"I've been trying to get out of my little funk here and haven't been getting the barrel of the bat on the ball. More than hitting for the cycle, it was great to have a game where I was seeing the ball well and getting some good swings," Venable said. "It's been frustrating. In the last week leading up to this, I've been feeling good. I think I needed one good swing to get me back to where I'm feeling good."

"We didn't have much margin for error, especially when we were playing outside our league," said Bob Scrabis, a member of the 1987-88 Princeton team. Scrabis ranks fifth on the school's all-time 3-pointers list. "We didn't get many second shots. We may not have outrebounded anybody in my four years there. If we got open shots we had to make them."
