On Monday, Princeton picked up a verbal commitment from 6'8" 230 lb big man Daniel Edwards, who hails from Highland Park, TX and attends the same high school that Tiger center Chris Young graduated from a decade ago. Edwards chose Princeton over interest from Penn and Bucknell.
Pending admission, Edwards will join guard T.J. Bray in Princeton's 2010 recruiting class.
Yesterday afternoon I spoke with Edwards' high school coach, David Piehler. He shared his thoughts with me about Edwards, both on-and-off the court.

Princeton has announced a few tweaks to the 2009-10 schedule. Two date changes and several minor start times. Those adjustments have been made to the site's schedule page.
Rivals is counting down all 347 Division I programs. Princeton places close to the middle at #156.

The John Thompson III Foundation hosts its Third Annual Foundation Weekend on September 18th and 19th.

Will Venable hit his 10th home run of the season (video), a solo shot to center in the top of the seventh inning, as San Diego came back to beat San Francisco, 4-3.

Denver head coach Joe Scott has signed a three year contract extension that will keep him with the Pioneers through the 2014-15 season.
Another addition to the highlight reel for Will Venable, who followed up an outfield assist (video) on Monday with a diving grab (video) last night.
The charity auction that John Thompson III and his wife were involved in raised over $39,000 for the Sullivan Center for Breast Health.
One name to add and one name to remove from your recruiting radar - A 6'7" North Carolina forward says Princeton is one of the schools that have made him an offer, while a 6'9" post player from Arizona who had previously listed the Tigers among his suitors verbally committed to Weber State.
Finally, there was a post on TigerBlog on Monday called "Jon Solomon, Media Member?" that I'd be curious to hear your opinions on. While, as I said in that site's comments, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with my name being the focal point for this discussion - I think both this post and the Washington Post article I shared here that inspired it raise some interesting, important issues. I had only hoped that by this point I would have earned a period in the subject line, not a question mark.

If this is done right, with use of TwitPics, Retweets about the team from varied sources and two way Q&As, it will be a great way to connect with this program.
The Washington Post has an article about the blurring line between fan and reporter as more and more individuals start up school-specific recruiting web sites.
