Around the Ivy League: Cornell (4-2) defeated Eastern Michigan, 67-54. It was Coach Steve Donahue's 100th career victory. Columbia (2-3) fell at home to Albany, 66-49. Behind 30 points from Jeremy Lin, Harvard (2-1) triumphed over Holy Cross, 69-59. Dartmouth (1-3) picked up their first win of the season, 68-63 over Furman. Penn (1-3) could not overcome a game-opening 22-4 run and lost 85-73 to Penn State.

New Recruit - Will Barrett.

It has been known for a few weeks now that Central Bucks South forward Will Barrett had decided on Princeton as his collegiate destination, but it wasn't until tonight that I was able to finally get his extremely busy high school coach, Jason Campbell, on the phone.

Campbell shared his first-hand knowledge of Barrett's game with me and his quotes from our conversation, plus many links about this well-regarded prospect can be found after the jump.

In my endless quest to skew this site younger (see last week's implementation of a Twitter feed for part one of this plan), I've set up a page for princetonbasketball.com on Facebook.

You can become a fan of what we do, watch videos, add your own photos and click around on many things that will probably just take you right back to the original site. Head here to check it out.

Don't worry, there won't ever be content on the Facebook page that isn't on this site first.

Also, if anyone knows of a decent schedule importer for Facebook that doesn't involve creating a new event for each game, I am interested.

New Recruit - Brendan Connolly.

Brendan Connolly, a 6'9" 240 lb center (#52, right) from Father Ryan High School in Nashville has decided to play basketball at Princeton.

Connolly is the sixth publicly-announced member of Princeton's 2009 recruiting class, a group full of talented, versatile big men.

I had a chance to speak with Connolly's high school coach, Doug Bontrager, this afternoon. His quotes about Connolly, plus links to evaluations and accolades can all be found after the jump.

Following Princeton's loss to Maine on Wednesday night, Tigers head coach Sydney Johnson felt that despite never trailing in the second half, his team did not have a good understanding that they were controlling the game.

Four days later, in their first road contest of the season, Princeton methodically turned a one point disadvantage at halftime into a 17 point lead as they took complete control of the afternoon and never let up in a 55-43 victory. It was the Tigers' first win on the road since December 30th, 2006.

"They understood," said Johnson of his team. "I thought we played to our strengths. It is a good step forward for us considering the lack of experience. To understand who we are and try to execute knowing who were are and to get the shots and how we need to defend - it's good."

"I have an emotional connection to these guys for a number of different reasons and to see them achieve the way they did tonight, we'll take it and run with it."

Freshman Doug Davis was high man for the Tigers for the third straight game, scoring 19 points on an efficient 8-11 shooting from the floor.

"Coach expects a lot out of us," said Davis. "When each person goes in they have to be ready to play, and I think we really did that tonight. We relaxed, we knew what we were doing, we knew our plays. We just had to execute and we did that."

Craig Moore hit eight of his school record nine three pointers in the first half as Northwestern (3-0) beat Brown (1-3) in Providence, 73-64.

Georgetown (2-0) defeated Drexel 81-53 behind 20 points from freshman Greg Monroe.

Lamar got the best of Denver (0-2) by the score of 61-48.

Nevada pulled away from Oregon State (0-2) in the final three minutes, topping the Beavers 79-71.

While Princeton already has a 2009 recruiting class that is large in size and high on height, one that is only going to get greater in number (more on that tease soon), here's the story of a 6'10" Canadian who has received interest from Gonzaga and the Tigers.

Comcast has announced that they will shut down CN8 by the end of the year. No word on what this means for the broadcast of Princeton's season finale at Penn.

Around the Ivy League: Colorado rallied past Harvard (1-1) in the second half, 70-59. A shorthanded Cornell (2-2) fell 74-56 at Siena. Dartmouth (0-3) dropped their home opener to Colgate, 65-60. Penn (1-2) picked up their first win of the season, 83-62 over Monmouth. Columbia (2-2) lost the championship game of the Columbia Classic, 66-52 to UMBC.
