Scott Greenman joins Princeton staff.
Former Princeton guard Scott Greenman has joined the Tigers coaching staff as a volunteer assistant. Welcome back to Princeton, Scott.
New Recruit - Max Huc.
Fox Sports' college basketball blog reports that 6'2" guard Max Huc (left) will be coming to Princeton next fall. Huc is currently attending Brewster Academy for a post-graduate year after previously attending The Hill School.
Jason Smith, Huc's head coach at Brewster, had this to say about the newest Princeton recruit:
"Max is a tough, hard-nosed, competitive point guard. He's an excellent passer and distributor of the basketball and an outstanding on the ball defender. Max is adjusting well to life at Brewster. He's a pleasant, positive young man who's a welcome addition to our community."
Huc was ranked in the Top 400 of Hoop Scoop's Fall 2006 list of juniors.
When asked by i95ballerz about his game, Huc said:
“My strengths are getting up and down the floor, passing and defense” he shared, while his point of necessary improvement is “The consistency of my shot”.
Huc joins Patrick Saunders as members of Sydney Johnson's first recruiting class.
Armond Hill.
1981 was the last year until the early 1990s that Topps made basketball trading cards. Each card in this set had three players on it, with perforations that allowed for division into three smaller cards. Chris Young had perhaps his best start since his oblique injury on Friday night in San Diego, throwing seven quality innings. The Padres rallied to win the game in ten. San Diego is two games behind Arizona for the NL West lead and 1.5 games in front of Philadelphia for the NL Wild Card berth.
Will Venable went 2-4 with double on Friday as San Antonio defeated Springfield 3-2 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five Texas League Championship. Saturday night the Missions won the title, building an 11-0 lead as Venable was 3-5 with two runs scored. San Antonio took the deciding game 11-7. Venable had a .387 batting average in the series.
David Blatt coached Russia to victory in the 2007 European Basketball Championship. Russia upset Lithuania before defeating Spain in the final 60-59. The title was Russia's first in 22 years.

Update: According to Shaw's high school coach, "Brandon has not been offered any type of commitment from Princeton."
Friday News:
Will Venable was 3-5 for San Antonio as the Missions took the second game of their best-of-five with Frisco 6-1. The Missions have three chances to eliminate the RoughRiders this weekend.
Some players on the Princeton recruiting radar: 6-5 John Carrol guard Mike Maczko will take a visit to Princeton. 6-10 forward Greg Mangano from Notre Dame-West Haven has Princeton as one of five finalists for his services. Another big man, 6-10 Emerson Kampen from Indiana says Princeton and IPFW currently top his list.
"I really like those two at this moment," Kampen said. "I wouldn't say I've narrowed it down to just those two, but I really like those two a lot."
