With the Padres holding a two run lead in the top of the seventh, two on and two out, Young hit Ben Broussard with a pitch that loaded the bases and brought the always dangerous Ichiro Suzuki to the plate. Suzuki tied the game with a single to center, the second run scoring on a extremely close play at the plate. Young's day was done and the Padres would go down 4-3 on an unearned run in the ninth.
