Dan Geriot rounds out Princeton coaching staff.

Former Richmond center Dan Geriot has been added to Mitch Henderson's coaching staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach, replacing the departed Craig Moore.

Geriot, who graduated in June following the Spiders' run to the Sweet 16, was recently waived by the Belgian team VOO Verviers-Pepinster after suffering a knee injury.

You can follow Geriot on Twitter here.

Thursday News:

There was a slew of content on espn.com yesterday, as Dana O'Neil wrote a piece about Mitch Henderson and another about how balance is back in the Ivy League. Elsewhere on the same site Dave Blatt, who has led a Russian team to an undefeated record at Eurobasket 2011, is profiled.

Henderson also provides advice on how recruits can get noticed as part of Varsity Ace's Recruiting 101 series.

While the addition of a home game versus Buffalo was a welcome sight on the 2011-12 non-conference schedule, one team that I was told would be making a return trip does not have Princeton on their schedule. Alas.

Georgetown coach John Thompson III is excited about his freshman class.

Is it possible the Hoyas' brawl in China was a good thing for the team?

Craig Robinson is hopeful that Oregon State can take the next step this year.

I don't think I posted previously that the Brown schedule was released.

Feeling Bullish about a second home game.

When I heard over the summer that Princeton would play Buffalo as part of their 2011-12 non-conference schedule, visions of driving by myself all the way out to western New York immediately came to the forefront.

Thankfully, that won't be a concern this season as the Tigers will host the Bulls at Jadwin Gym on November 19th.

Buffalo had a 20-14 overall record a year ago, 8-8 in MAC play. The Bulls advanced to the postseason for the third time as a DI school, bowing out in the third round of the CIT at Iona.

1996-97 team photo.

A reader was kind enough to scan and send over this photo of the 1996-97 Tigers, a squad that would go 24-3 in the regular season with an unblemished Ivy record before falling 55-52 to Cal in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Front row: Jason Osier, Brian Earl, Alex Karlsen, Sean Gregory, Gabe Lewullis, Phil Belin, Mitch Henderson, J.R. Gillern, Jose Ramirez-Del Toro

Back row: Jim Brenner, Joe Scott, Jay Galloway, Sydney Johnson, James Mastaglio, Steve Goodrich, Jesse Rosenfeld, Nate Walton, Mason Rocca, John McCann, Darren Hite, John Thompson III, Bill Carmody, Mike McDonnell

Tuesday News:

Judson Wallace was officially introduced by FC Barcelona at a press conference yesterday.

It appears Pawel Buczak contributed 10 points in Slask Wroclaw's exhibition victory over FK Smederevo.

The Gabe Lewullis layup versus UCLA made a Bleacher Report slideshow of the NCAA Tournament's 15 Biggest Game-Winning Shots Ever.

Oregon State picked up another verbal commitment.

Monday News:

Bill Bradley was one of the speakers at yesterday's public gathering in remembrance of 9/11 held at Princeton.

An eagle-eyed reader noticed Princeton's game at Rutgers slid up one date from what was previously announced.

It appears Kareem Maddox again performed quite well in a trio of Landstede Basketbal games at the John Murphy Challenge. Maddox and Brown alum Damon Huffman each had 14 points in yesterday's triumph over the Rhöndorf Dragons.

Judson Wallace made his FC Barcelona debut in an exhibition match versus Stanford University.

A freshman Fairfield recruit has decided to not attend the university.

YouTube potpourri XLIII.

Here's the latest collection of videos from various corners of the Princeton basketball family. Above a newly-posted highlight package of the Tigers' 2011 NCAA Tournament game versus Kentucky.

Six additional clips after the jump.

Nine (more) questions for Judson Wallace.

About a year ago, right after he signed with Gran Canaria 2014, I exchanged emails with Judson Wallace '05 about his simple, hitch-free transfer leaving Italy for a squad off the coast of Spain.

One year later, Wallace and I again traded messages for an exclusive interview, this time following a prolonged saga that saw Wallace waiting to join Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona Regal as maneuvers were made behind the scenes to secure dual citizenship because Barca had already satisfied its quota of American-born players.

This odyssey ended two days ago and Wallace was formally announced as the newest member of the Lega ACB champions. Shortly thereafter I sent him nine questions to answer. His responses can be found after the jump.

Friday News:

Cornell announced that due to Princeton's exam schedule, the Ivy League opener between the Big Red and the Tigers would be moved up two weeks.

This alteration is not unprecedented but it is also not common over recent seasons. The previous two times Princeton opened conference play before breaking for exams didn't work out well for the Tigers: Swept at Columbia and Cornell in 2007 and a split with Cornell and Columbia at Jadwin in 2006. Prior to that the orange and black bested both Harvard and Dartmouth on the road in January 2002.

Both Northwestern and Richmond have released their full 2011-12 schedules. Spiders head coach Chris Mooney was a recent guest at the Robins School of Business.

Will Venable made two significant plays in San Diego's 3-1 over San Francisco on Wednesday. Venable homered to open the first inning (video) off the head of an oblivious fan in right field and threw out a runner at the plate (video) to end the seventh inning.

Researching the field guide to Tigers in Europe I noticed that Kareem Maddox led his team in scoring during an exhibition and Pawel Buczak tallied 12 in his team's friendly with Dąbrowa Górnicza.

Team captain Mason Rocca shares his thoughts prior to Milano's training camp.

The Hellenic Voice has a story on Dan Mavraides receiving the Harry Agganis Award at the AHEPA Sports Luncheon.

There are quotes from Pete Carril in a recent ESPN piece on Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.

Columbia has also revealed their complete schedule.

Spending New Year's Eve in Tallahassee.

It appears that after playing at Florida State on December 30th the Tigers will stick around Tallahassee to face Florida A&M on New Year's Day.

I can't recall a time in recent memory where the Tigers combined non-conference games on a single plane trip that wasn't a tournament. Anyone?

The Rattlers, who are part of the MEAC, had a record of 8-20 last season.

Sunday News:

Will Venable was mired in a 1-17 slump before hitting a home run (video) to lead off yesterday's game versus Colorado. The Padres still dropped their ninth straight, 5-4.

Now it looks like Judson Wallace does have his new passport in order and can sign with Barcelona? I'm so confused, and Google Translate isn't helping matters.

A member of Georgetown's official delegation shares the truth about the Hoyas' brawl with Bayi Rockets.

Two names to keep an eye on: a quarterback / point guard from California and a forward out of Florida both say they're being recruited by Princeton.

There's a great photo of Dan Mavraides arriving at the airport in Greece.

Former Tiger Bob Kleinert '78 shows up in a Fortune Magazine feature on Sandler O'Neill.

Thursday News:

Georgetown has announced their 2011-12 schedule, which includes 16 home games.

Back in April I had been told that Princeton would likely play St. Joe's again this season. The Hawks' schedule is out and the Tigers aren't on it.

Bill Bradley is among the speakers expected at Princeton's Gathering in Remembrance of 9/11 a week from Sunday on Cannon Green.

Sydney Johnson has his first commitment at Fairfield, an athletic forward from Philadelphia.

Northwestern alum Michael "Juice" Thompson is headed to Germany, where he'll suit up for the Fraport Skyliners.
