Michael Sands' dunk with two seconds left provided Yale (3-5) with their margin of victory in a 48-46 decision at Hartford. Harvard (6-1) is off to their best start in 25 years, running past Rice, 85-64. Behind 19 points from Robby Pride, Brown (4-5) surrendered the last eight points of regulation and lost to Holy Cross in OT by six.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving was bountiful for the disciples of Pete Carril.

Northwestern (5-1) won the Chicago Invitational Challenge with a 67-65 victory over Iowa State.

A trophy also went to Richmond (6-1), winners of the South Padre Island Invitational. The Spiders defeated Missouri in the championship game, 59-52.

In front of President Barack Obama, George Washington was handed their first defeat of the season courtesy of the visitors from Oregon State (2-3).

Georgetown (4-0) remained undefeated with a 97-44 win over Lafayette. Six Hoyas scored in double figures.

Denver (4-1) won by three at South Dakota State.

Bear Talk previews today's game against Cal.

Princeton recruit T.J. Bray scored 15 points as Catholic Memorial beat up on Muskego. Another future Tiger, Ben Hazel, had 10 points in Good Counsel's first victory of the season.

Around the Ivy League: Yale (2-5) became the third Ivy school to lose to Army this season, falling 64-48. Siena took down Brown (4-4) by 20. Cornell (4-2) trumped Vermont, 67-59. Behind 19 points from Robby Pride, Dartmouth (1-4) got in the win column, beating Hartford in Hanover, 68-56.

Happy Thanksgiving! No games today.

Princeton recruit T.J. Bray picked up nine points and 11 rebounds as Catholic Memorial defeated East Troy by 12 in their season opener.

Denver (3-1) had an exciting comeback 80-77 victory over Wyoming. The two teams combined to attempt a staggering 94 free throws. Caught the second half on FSN and I can confirm Coach Scott's team is playing very well. Nate Rohnert scored a career-high 32 points for the Pioneers.

Princeton is in 10th place in the latest edition of the Schuylkil 16.

Around the Ivy League: Garrett Leffelman's putback with less than a second to play helped Brown (3-3) beat Bryant, 70-68. Harvard (4-1) made quick work of New Hampshire, 78-60.

Columbia (2-1) won its second straight, outscoring Bucknell 30-8 in the final 10 minutes of a 73-59 Lions victory. Dartmouth (0-4) is still looking for their first win after a 58-41 loss to Loyola (Md.) in Hanover. In a game that saw neither team make a three point shot, Drexel defeated Penn (0-4) by a 58-49 count.

The bad news continues for Northwestern. Andy Katz from espn.com reports leading scorer Kevin Coble is done for the year and fellow senior Jeff Ryan tore his ACL on Friday and will not play again this season.

Denver (1-1) entered the win column with a 75-66 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Oregon State (1-2) fell in the final four minutes to Texas Tech, 64-60.

Basketball-U's Ivy coverage has returned after a one year hiatus! Start with their 2009-10 Princeton summary.

Greg Monroe had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Georgetown (1-0) over Tulane, 74-58.

Northwestern (1-0) began their year on the right foot, beating Northern Illinois by 22. There is a chance Wildcat senior forward Kevin Coble may have surgery and redshirt this season.

Richmond (1-0) pulled away from Lehigh down the stretch for a 65-53 win.

Northern Iowa got past Denver (0-1) at Magness Arena, 71-65.

At the Duel In The Desert, Oregon State (0-1) ran into a sandstorm named Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Beavers were 2-10 from the free throw line in the first half and committed 25 turnovers on the night as they fell in a 44-19 hole that was insurmountable.

Mercer (2-1) went on the road and defeated Chesapeake in double overtime, 77-69. Isiah Andrews and Quincy Hendryx each scored 15 for the Vikings.

Also returning this year is the Schuylkill 16, a weekly ranking of Delaware Valley teams that I vote in. Princeton placed 10th in the Opening Week edition.

Around the Ivy League: Harvard (1-0) began their campaign with an impressive victory at Holy Cross. Brown (1-0) also won on the road, 68-64 over St. Francis (NY). Alex Zampier scored 35, but Yale (0-1) came up short of the finish line, dropping a 92-86 track meet to Sacred Heart. Penn (0-1) was unable to stop Penn State junior guard Talor Battle, who scored 27 points and grabbed 10 boards. The Quakers lost 70-55. Boston College may have had three players suspended for their season opener, but they still had no problem with Dartmouth, 89-58.
