Impressed by NYC Buckets' "Five Nights" series, finished with this year's epic data entry of schedules for the eight "Carril Cradle" teams and suffering from an mild early bout of snow madness, I opted to write a piece highlighting one non-conference game in the first three weeks of the season for each of the teams we cover.
My only rule was not picking match-ups that share the same date. Read on for sequential suggestions of contests to pay close(r) attention to as 2011-12 gets underway.
The annual ordeal of tedious data entry finally behind me, I've completed color coded 2011-12 electronic calendars for each of the "Carril Cradle" teams. You can download any or all of the following to sync with your computer/PDA.
Each basketball schedule will be updated whenever a tip time changes or new TV information is revealed. These links will work best with iCal but are importable into Google Calendar.
If you notice any errors with games/dates/times/locations, please let me know.

The Atlantic 10's preseason coaches/media poll is out. Richmond is picked fifth. The Spiders will ask Darien Brothers to play a different roll than he did last year.
Oregon State has launched a sharp-looking web site for their men's basketball team. The Beavers are shooting high in 2011-12.
In his first regular season game for Landstede Basketbal, Kareem Maddox scored five points in 19 minutes of play.
Tickets are on sale now for the November 17th luncheon in New York City honoring Pete Carril, Jim Phelan and Debbie Ryan with the 2011 Lapchick Award. If you would like to attend follow this link.

In ESPN's non-conference schedule analysis, Princeton shows up five times as an opponent in the "toughest" or "next-toughest" tier.
Why are the Tigers traveling to Drexel in December? Because Mitch Henderson and Bruiser Flint sat next to one another on a plane.
I'm a voter in the Big Apple Buckets NYC Area Power Poll this season. To answer the question before you ask it, I selected Princeton seventh out of the 23 eligible teams.
If you missed the late addition of a third member to Princeton's 2012 recruiting class, read the updated version of this story.

Former Richmond center Dan Geriot has been added to Mitch Henderson's coaching staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach, replacing the departed Craig Moore.
Geriot, who graduated in June following the Spiders' run to the Sweet 16, was recently waived by the Belgian team VOO Verviers-Pepinster after suffering a knee injury.

Cornell announced that due to Princeton's exam schedule, the Ivy League opener between the Big Red and the Tigers would be moved up two weeks.
This alteration is not unprecedented but it is also not common over recent seasons. The previous two times Princeton opened conference play before breaking for exams didn't work out well for the Tigers: Swept at Columbia and Cornell in 2007 and a split with Cornell and Columbia at Jadwin in 2006. Prior to that the orange and black bested both Harvard and Dartmouth on the road in January 2002.
Both Northwestern and Richmond have released their full 2011-12 schedules. Spiders head coach Chris Mooney was a recent guest at the Robins School of Business.
princetonbasketball.com was founded on April 28th, 1998 in an attempt to provide fans of the Princeton Tigers and Ivy League basketball with the best on-line source for up-to-date news and information. We have since expanded to launch a companion site, Georgetown Basketball News.
As these sites have continued to grow we have increased our coverage to include additional teams with Princeton connections - the Richmond Spiders, Denver Pioneers, Oregon State Beavers, Fairfield Stags and Mercer County Community College Vikings - plus former Tigers playing professional baseball and basketball all over the world. This site is not directly affiliated with the Friends of Princeton Basketball, Princeton University or the Princeton athletic department.
