Princeton recruit Hans Brase had a big game on the opening day of the Dave Mercer Invitational Tournament.

Fellow future Tiger Mike Washington, Jr. went for 21 in Oak Harbor's loss to Shorewood.

If you spent any time around the Princeton program in the mid-2000s, one constant was Scott Greenman's kid brother Mikey dribbling a basketball everywhere he went. Now a sophomore in high school, the younger Greenman is the centerpiece of a story on the psychological pressure young athletes face.

Georgetown looks to continue an early season roll today versus American.

Going the Verizon Center? Stick around after the game to watch Howie Levy's Mercer County Community College Vikings against Frederick (Md.) on the same floor.

Central Connecticut State visits Northwestern.

Denver hosts Boise State.

It will be interesting to see how Richmond performs at Bucknell.

Friday News:

T.J. Bray is the focus of the Princeton Packet's piece on the Rider win. I'm agreeing more and more with Bob Nuse's Kyle Wente comparison after every game.

The Daily Princetonian talks to several players about the Tigers' trip to Northeastern.

The third person narrative-obsessed TigerBlog writes about an evening spent in Lawrenceville.

Kareem Maddox was a perfect 4-4 from the floor in Landstede Basketbal's rout of Rotterdam.

Don't believe I've posted these extended Elon/Princeton highlights previously.

Princeton recruit Mike Washington, Jr. scored 11 points in Oak Harbor's victory over Lynnwood.

Oregon State (8-2) throttled Howard, 93-72. The Beavers are off to their best start in 14 years.

Opening on a 23-3 run, Northwestern (8-1) had no trouble with Texas Southern.

Below you'll find John Sadak's call of Mack Darrow's shot to beat the Broncs:

Thursday News:

Texas Southern vs. Northwestern - 8:00 pm ET
Howard vs. Oregon State - 10:00 pm ET

In addition to our recap, read about Princeton's win at the buzzer over Rider on goprincetontigers.com, in the Trentonian, in the Trenton Times, in the Daily Princetonian and on gobroncs.com.

There's a great shot of Mack Darrow's game winner mid-flight here.

The Town Topics files a report on last week's Rutgers game.

Richmond (6-4) fell short versus Iona, 88-79.

Shaking off a slow start, Denver (7-2) won by five at Northern Colorado.

Oregon State hosts Howard.

Playing three games in four days after 11 days off, Northwestern hosts Texas Southern. Wildcats head coach Bill Carmody (.mp3) recently visited with WGN.

Thinking a bit about Princeton and buzzer beaters as I dozed off last night, I could come up with four in the past decade: Darrow's shot, of course Doug Davis in the Ivy playoff less than a year ago, Ed Persia's 80' hurl at Monmouth and Kyle Wente's off-balance trey at Harvard. What are some other times the Tigers won or lost a game on a basket with no time on the clock?

Did one occur between Wente and Tim Legler's three at the horn for La Salle in 1987? If it did I'm drawing a blank.
