Around the Ivy League: Yale (9-11 / 3-3) throttled Dartmouth (8-12 / 1-5) to the tune of 97-58. Cornell (14-5 / 6-0) stayed perfect in league play, beating Penn (7-14 / 2-2) for the first time in 18 games, 87-74. Brown (12-8 / 4-2) made quick work of Harvard (6-16 / 1-5) in Providence, 71-51.

Columbia (9-11 / 2-3) handed Penn (7-13 / 2-1) its first conference loss, defeating the Quakers 74-58. Yale (8-11 / 2-3) defeated Harvard (6-15 / 1-4) for the ninth straight time at Lee Amphitheater, 83-70.



Monday News:

Lincoln Gunn makes the Honor Roll on the latest Ivy Weekly Basketball Awards. Gunn was 9-19 from three point range and averaged 17 points, four rebounds and two assists over the weekend.

The Daily Princetonian has a weekend wrapup, The Dartmouth reviews the Big Green's 0-2 trip to the Delaware Valley and there are two articles in The Crimson about Harvard's loss to the Tigers.

Northwestern (7-12) played #11 Indiana tough, but ultimately fell 75-63.

Thursday News:

Georgetown (17-2) decimated St. John's 74-42, holding the Red Storm without a field goal for most of the first half.

Richmond (10-9) was down one at Rhode Island with 10:37 to play, eventually falling 78-64.

Northwestern (7-11) picked up a much-needed 68-59 victory over Texas-Pan American.

Denver hosts Florida International later tonight.

Jessie Sapp's three point shot with six seconds to play gave Georgetown (16-2) a one point lead and Patrick Ewing Jr's blocked shot at the buzzer preserved a 58-57 Hoyas victory.

Richmond (10-8) picked up its first home win over a ranked team since 1990, blowing out #16 Dayton 80-63.

Northwestern travels to Illinois this evening.

Denver is at South Alabama today.

Around the Ivy League: First place Cornell (10-5 / 2-0) swept their season series with Columbia (7-10 / 0-2). The Big Red defeated the Lions 72-64 in New York City. Brown (9-7 / 1-1) evened the score with Yale (7-9 / 1-1), 77-68.



Friday News:

Northwestern (6-10) was downed by Michigan State, 78-62. The Wildcats are winless in Big Ten play.

Two free throws with five seconds left in overtime did in Denver (8-10) at Florida Atlantic, 70-68.

It was a successful trip to New Jersey for Alex Wolff's Vermont Frost Heaves. The 21-3 defending ABA champions raced past the Jersey Express 127-104. More on this game later today.

LaSalle finished with a 20-10 run, defeating Richmond (9-8) by a 76-67 count.

Northwestern kept it close against Wisconsin for a half before eventually falling 62-50.

Around the Ivy League: Cornell (9-5 / 1-0) opened conference play with a 70-64 win over Columbia (7-9 / 0-1). Yale (7-8 / 1-0) needed overtime to top Brown (8-7 / 0-1) by the score of 66-63 in the Ivy opener for both teams. Penn (5-11) fell behind 21-3 early, losing its third Big Five contest of the season, 82-42 to St. Joe's.
