Friday News:
Princeton can start full team practices this evening and Mitch Henderson is ready to roll.

There was a slew of content on espn.com yesterday, as Dana O'Neil wrote a piece about Mitch Henderson and another about how balance is back in the Ivy League. Elsewhere on the same site Dave Blatt, who has led a Russian team to an undefeated record at Eurobasket 2011, is profiled.
Henderson also provides advice on how recruits can get noticed as part of Varsity Ace's Recruiting 101 series.
While the addition of a home game versus Buffalo was a welcome sight on the 2011-12 non-conference schedule, one team that I was told would be making a return trip does not have Princeton on their schedule. Alas.

A team comprised of John Rogers, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Northwestern alums Jitim Young and Tim Doyle won the National Hoop It Up 3-on-3 tournament last weekend.
Friday News:
It is official that Princeton's game at Rider this season will be the Tigers' first-ever visit to Alumni Gymnasium.
The Dyckman team with Cornell alum Jeff Foote in the middle (matched up versus Georgetown's Roy Hibbert) and Pawel Buczak coming off the bench won the Nike Pro City crown over defending champs The Franchise, 110-88.
Buczak, called "The European One" and "The Malnourished One" by the public address announcer, scored seven points on 3-4 shooting, including a big three point shot from the right wing in the fourth quarter as The Franchise attempted to rally.

Will Venable stayed hot with the bat and on the base path, 3-5 with a pair of stolen bases on Sunday (video), as San Diego finished a series sweep of Pittsburgh. Venable is hitting .355 in his last 10 games and is 6-11 at the plate (.545) in the previous three contests since missing time due to back spasms.
It appears Venable's Princeton teammate Judson Wallace may be signing with FC Barcelona. Somehow this involves an Albanian passport?
Summer league details aren't as easy to come by as everyone would like but here's a touch more on Ian Hummer and his final game at the Kenner League.

Sutor Basket Montegranaro of Italy's Lega A is rumored to have interest in Dan Mavraides. The team's GM Gianmaria Vacirca visited Princeton in 2009 and wrote about his time with the Tiger coaching staff for Sutor Magazine.
Former Princeton player Chris Long was appointed to the Kansas Public Employees Retirement Board of Trustees by Governor Sam Brownback.
Details about individual game tickets on the Harvard web site make it easy to add dates for four more of this season's Ivy contests. Princeton will play the Crimson twice in 13 days, first at Jadwin Gym.
As one of four "featured teams," Oregon State shall open the TicketCity Legends Classic at the Izod Center in East Rutherford on November 19th against Texas. The other semifinal pits Vanderbilt and NC State.
On November 17th Northwestern now knows they'll begin the eight team, three game Charleston Classic against LSU.

Scott Greenman has been promoted at Georgetown. He is now the Hoyas' Director of Basketball Operations. Greenman also popped up on Twitter, so I've added him to our updated list of current and former Princeton players working with 140 characters or less.

Craig Robinson continues to make the talk show rounds, including an appearance on the Mike Wise Show (audio). Robinson's Oregon State team will play at the Meadowlands in early November for the championship portion of the Legends Classic.
Later that same month Northwestern will visit Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Bill Carmody announced today that Tavaras Hardy is now the Wildcats' associate head coach.

A 29th round selection in the 1994 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, Mitch Henderson will be on the field of the team that selected him this evening. The Yankees will recognize 10 collegiate coaches connected to Coaches vs. Cancer at home plate before New York and Kansas City play. Henderson is among those expected to attend the ceremony.
