33 points from D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera was the highest scoring output by a Hoya freshman under John Thompson III as Georgetown (20-4) won their eighth straight 90-66 over DePaul. DSR shot 10-12 from the field, 5-6 behind the arc and 8-10 at the line.

Scoring remained an issue for Northwestern (13-14), who went down 69-41 against #19 Wisconsin.

Princeton recruit Amir Bell and East Brunswick advanced to the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament final.

Tomorrow night Columbia must account for the versatility of Ian Hummer.

Sydney Johnson wanted Malcolm Gilbert to play for him at Princeton and will get that chance at Fairfield now that Gilbert has transferred in from Pitt.

Around the Ivy League: Harvard (14-7 / 6-1) blocked a program record 15 shots, Kenyatta Smith came one rebound away from a triple double and the Crimson topped Penn (5-18 / 2-4) by a 73-54 final. Cornell (12-12 / 4-3) got even overall with a 68-61 win at Yale (9-15 / 3-4). Behind a career high 27 from Matt Sullivan, Brown (9-12 / 3-4) defeated a Brian Barbour-less Columbia (10-11 / 2-5) side, 58-55.

Richmond (14-9) fended off Xavier at home, 73-71.

Brown (8-10 / 2-2) came from 22 down with 11:27 minutes to go, got to overtime courtesy a Sean McGonagill shot at the horn but could not take the lead in either of the two overtimes that followed as the Crimson survived 89-82. Errick Peck was 8-8 from the floor and Galal Cancer scored with 10 seconds to go as Cornell (10-11 / 2-2) won 71-69 over Penn (4-16 / 1-2) at The Palestra. Dartmouth (5-13 / 1-3) reached the win column in conference, 71-62 versus Yale (7-14 / 1-3). The Big Green connected on 22-24 free throws.
