Monday News:

Will Venable remains on a roll, batting .411 over his last 10 games, including a 4-4 performance with two doubles on Saturday as Portland bested Tacoma 4-2.

Chris Young threw his first bullpen session since being hit in the face with an Albert Pujols line drive on May 21st. Young will have septum surgery at the end of the month and hopes to return to the Padres' roster after the All Star Game break.

Two honors handed out recently - Pete Carril received the Carl A. Fields Memorial University Service Award from the Association of Black Princeton Alumni and Princeton Athletic Director Gary Walters was named AstroTurf AD of the Year - Northeast / Football Championship Subdivision by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

Here's a 6'6" Arizona high school player who just took an unofficial visit to Princeton.

Chris Richard, who sat out last season at Richmond with knee tendonitis, will transfer to Oregon State.

Former Princeton assistant and former Cornell head coach Jan van Breda Kolff will be the head man for ABA expansion team the Nashville Broncs.
