The Bulldogs led Sacred Heart 61-37 with under 14 minutes to go but the Pioneers would somehow force overtime and subsequently earn an 85-82 decision. Brian Barbour scored 19 as Columbia (1-0) drubbed Liberty, 68-47. Behind a career high 25 for Gabas Maldunas, Dartmouth (1-0) opened their year with a 67-54 decision over Maine.
