Postgame audio - Coach Sydney Johnson, Douglas Davis & Dan Mavraides:
Princeton heads into their annual 17 day exam break with a program record-tying 11th DI non-conference win after a methodical 68-57 victory over Marist.
Five Tigers hit double figures as Princeton built a 20 point first half lead.
Their advantage cut to five midway through the second half, the Tigers responded with eight straight and the buffer never returned to single digits.
Princeton converted seven of eight free throws in the last 2:21 before an unencumbered Brendan Connolly's two-handed slam with under a minute to play pushed this edge back to where it sat at halftime, 17 .
Back-to-back three point shots for the Red Foxes - after missing their first 14 attempts - made the final count a touch deceptive.
"I don't think it was pretty, but I've been around a little bit and I think I see these guys were working hard," said Tiger head coach Sydney Johnson. "I think we hit a stretch there in the second half where we weren't making shots. One or two of them I wasn't happy with, four or five of them I was. It just didn't go down."
Tigers head coach Sydney Johnson and princetonbasketball.com editor Jon Solomon sat down at Jadwin Gym on Tuesday afternoon for their first interview of 2011. The two reviewed Princeton's split versus Northeastern and Central Florida at the UCF Holiday Classic before previewing the Tigers' last game prior to the exam break versus Marist.
This Q&A is 16:00+ in length.
Interviews with Coach Johnson will appear on this site every week during the 2010-11 season.
A late 12-0 run could not get Northwestern (9-3) past Michigan State. The Wildcats were vanquished by three.
Around the Ivy League: Cornell (3-10) went down for the 9th time in 10 games, 78-66 versus Buffalo. Penn (5-6) fell 86-62 at Kentucky. Army and Dartmouth (4-9) met for the second time this season, with the Black Knights coming out on top 67-47 this time. American defeated Brown (5-7) by 10.
The latest collection of videos from various corners of the Princeton basketball family. Above, Jared Cunningham's crazy tip dunk down the stretch of Oregon State's win over 12-2 Arizona.
Postgame audio - Coach John Thompson III, Hollis Thompson & Chris Wright:
Dwight Hardy waited at the top of the circle with time running down, the shot clock off and his St. John's team trailing by one.
Looking directly at Georgetown's long-armed junior guard Jason Clark, who had placed the Hoyas in front with a pair of free throws after controlling an offensive rebound under his own basket with :23 left in the second half, Hardy made his move.
Attacking to his right, Hardy dusted Clark and went up for a layup that had to be adjusted high off the glass as two Georgetown defenders soared across the lane to attempt a block.
Like he did in 2005 when he visited Naples, friend of the site and former Princeton manager Mike McDonnell was generous enough to share his Italian vacation photos.
McDonnell's overseas trip in the fall coincided with the New York Knicks' journey, where they played Armani Jeans Milano, captained by Mason Rocca.
Above, Rocca signs autographs at an outdoor NBA-sponsored pregame event next to the Duomo di Milano.
A surprising weekend sweep by Oregon State (7-6) concluded with the Beavers' 76-75 win over Arizona. The Beavers are 2-0 in Pac-10 play for only the second time since the 92-93 season.
Once again Rush The Court to check in on the Ivy League.
Playing their third game in six days, Georgetown visits St. John's. Look for postgame coverage from MSG on the site later tonight.

Around the Ivy League: Cornell (3-9) was 15-21 from three point range in a 86-80 victory over Wofford. Columbia (7-4) won 74-71 at Maine. Bucknell recorded its third triumph against an Ivy foe, knocking off Dartmouth (4-8) by 17.
princetonbasketball.com was founded on April 28th, 1998 in an attempt to provide fans of the Princeton Tigers and Ivy League basketball with the best on-line source for up-to-date news and information. We have since expanded to launch a companion site, Georgetown Basketball News.
As these sites have continued to grow we have increased our coverage to include additional teams with Princeton connections - the Richmond Spiders, Denver Pioneers, Oregon State Beavers, Fairfield Stags and Mercer County Community College Vikings - plus former Tigers playing professional baseball and basketball all over the world. This site is not directly affiliated with the Friends of Princeton Basketball, Princeton University or the Princeton athletic department.
