Kevin Steuerer is Princeton's representative in the latest Ivy Weekly Basketball Awards.

Denver is on the west coast for the Cable Car Classic.

Will Venable finished play in the Arizona Fall League batting .228 over 23 games.

Georgetown (8-1) could not match Memphis in the second half, losing their high noon showdown 85-71.

Denver (4-6) won its conference opener over last year's SBC champion, North Texas. The Pioneers have matched last season's victory total.

Around the Ivy League: Brown (6-4) defeated Hartford, 79-61. Dartmouth (5-6) fell by three at Army. Harvard (4-10) dropped a 75-66 decision to Sacred Heart. Columbia (4-7) lost 72-56 to Villanova. Cornell (4-4) was no match for Syracuse, 80-64.

The Thundering Herd of Marshall fended off several Princeton rallies in the second half, holding on for a 66-60 victory at home in Huntington on Saturday afternoon.

Marshall had built a 10 point lead at halftime, but the Tigers shot 68.2% from the field in the final twenty minutes as they were able to pull to within one possession on two occasions late in the game.

The loss was Princeton's ninth straight this season and the Tigers' twelfth consecutive loss on the road.

Northwestern (5-4) won its fourth straight, 77-51 over Howard. The victory was Bill Carmody's 100th win as coach of the Wildcats. Carmody said after the game that Northwestern's leading scorer from last season, Kevin Coble has returned to campus and is practicing with the team.

Georgetown readies for their showdown at Memphis.
