In front of a crowd numbering less than 100 people, Richmond (1-0) held on against Maine 44-42 in college basketball's first game of the season.

Georgetown's Roy Hibbert has been named a preseason All-American by the Associated Press.

In their first interview of the year, Princeton head coach Sydney Johnson and princetonbasketball.com editor Jon Solomon sat down at Jadwin Gym to discuss the current state of Princeton basketball leading up to the Tigers' first two games of the season. The college basketball season kicks off this afternoon, with Chris Mooney's Richmond Spiders doing the honors today in Memphis.

Today's Washington Post has a feature on the John Thompson III Foundation.

The Hoyas will start the season ranked #5 in the Associated Press poll.

Will Venable was 2-4 with a run scored in Saturday's Arizona Fall League action.
