Will Venable was 1-3 with a walk in a 3-2 San Antonio loss to Arkansas on Saturday. Venable went 2-4 on Sunday in a 6-5 Missions victory. His average is back up to .291.
5-23 UC Davis will be switching to the "Princeton offense" this season.
"We really took all the information that we collected from the transition period and made a critical analysis of that information. And then, [we] did that with last season as well and came up with definitive ideas as to how we are going to proceed," said head coach Gary Stewart. "We really feel like we have something that fits our program and gives us the best chance to be successful long-term, something that we can tweak but don't have to blow up and start over. We've got something that we can recruit to, that we can coach to, that we feel more comfortable about."

Eisbaren Bremerhaven saw their season come to an end yesterday, falling to Koln 84-67 in game five of their first round BBL playoff series. Judson Wallace had 12 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.
Is it possible that Jeff Green could still return to Georgetown for his senior season? Articles by Andy Katz and the Philadelphia Inquirer leave the door ajar.

Chris Young shut down the Pittsburgh Pirates for the third time in as many starts against the team that drafted him and drove in a run with a single to center field as part of a 9-0 Padres victory. Young was replaced at the start of the bottom of eighth inning after the Padres scored five runs in the top of the frame to expand their two run advantage.
"This is the third time since the beginning of last season that we have seen him and we've not been able to do much at all with him," Pittsburgh manager Jim Tracy said. "There is deception with him obviously, and there is something with him that we're not seeing.
Last night Will Venable became the first member of the San Antonio Missions since 2002 to hit for the cycle. Venable laced his first home run of the season in the seventh inning, a three run shot that put the Missions in front 4-3. A double in the top of the ninth completed this rare feat. After seeing his average drop to .262, Venable is 8-14 in his last three games.
"I've been trying to get out of my little funk here and haven't been getting the barrel of the bat on the ball. More than hitting for the cycle, it was great to have a game where I was seeing the ball well and getting some good swings," Venable said. "It's been frustrating. In the last week leading up to this, I've been feeling good. I think I needed one good swing to get me back to where I'm feeling good."
Princeton named Dartmouth assistant Courtney Banghart their new women's basketball coach yesterday. Princeton men's basketball coach Sydney Johnson served on the advisory search committee.

Game four of the first round BBL playoff series went to Koln, 73-71. Judson Wallace scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The deciding game of the Eisbaren's series versus RheinEnergie will be on Thursday.
Wallace isn't the only recent Princeton graduate competing in a playoff series overseas. Scott Greenman had 22 points and five assists to send Bnei Hasharon to an overtime win in the Israeli League quarterfinals. Hasharon lost on Tuesday to Hapoel Jerusalem in the semifinals, 96-83. Greenman scored three points in seven minutes of play.
Chris Young is in Pittsburgh tonight, starting for San Diego against the Padres. 7:05 pm ET first pitch. Both the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the Pittsburgh Tribune Review try their best to get Young to say something about his last outing against the Bucs, where he took a no-hitter into the ninth inning.
Will Venable was back batting lead-off for the San Antonio Missions. Venable went 2-5 with two runs scored, but the Missions dropped a wild 12-10 game to Springfield.

In game three of a first round BBL playoff series, Judson Wallace scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Eisbaren defeated Koln 88-80 to take a 2-1 lead. Penn alum Adam Chubb led five Bremerhaven players in double figures with 18.

Judson Wallace returns to the starting lineup in the Eisbaren's second playoff game versus Koln. Wallace scores four points on 2-5 shooting, as former Penn big man Adam Chubb steals the show with a game-high 25. Bremerhaven comes away with an 88-79 victory to even this series at one game apiece.

Chris Young retired the first 12 Cubs he faced on Thursday night. Young struck out 10 batters in seven innings of work, but San Diego could only manage one run before Young was lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh as the Padres tried to push a second runner home. Two late runs by Chicago sent the Padres to defeat by a 3-1 score. Young lowered his home ERA this season to 0.66.

"We didn't have much margin for error, especially when we were playing outside our league," said Bob Scrabis, a member of the 1987-88 Princeton team. Scrabis ranks fifth on the school's all-time 3-pointers list. "We didn't get many second shots. We may not have outrebounded anybody in my four years there. If we got open shots we had to make them."

Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green will hold a press conference this afternoon at 1:00 pm ET to announce their intentions for the 2007 NBA draft. Both players declared for the draft in April but neither signed with an agent. The Washington Post is reporting and WTTM is confirming that Hibbert will return to Georgetown for his senior season. Jeff Green will enter the NBA draft. No word on if he has signed with an agent.
Wake Forest center/forward Casey Crawford is looking to transfer. Northwestern and Colorado are his two finalists. Crawford visited Evanston on Tuesday.
Will Venable was 1-3 on Tuesday as San Antonio scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to beat Springfield 3-2. Venable also swiped his fourth base of the season.
