Princeton and Evansville both issued press releases trumpeting their teams' inclusion in the CBI.

There are already previews of this game in the Courier Press and on Ivy Hoops Online.

As Spring Break ends, the Yale Daily News and the Daily Pennsylvanian catch up on Princeton's victories over their respective schools.

Third seed Georgetown drew Belmont in the Midwest region of the NCAA Tournament bracket.

12th-seeded Harvard will play Vanderbilt in the NCAA Tournament. The Commodores have an ace up their sleeve when they scout the Crimson for an East region pairing: The best friend of senior Lance Goulbourne is Doug Davis.

On the same day the Crimson's postseason pairing was announced, an elite big man declared he would be going to Harvard after a post grad year.

Northwestern fell short of the NCAAs and will instead host an NIT game.

For the third time in four years, Oregon State is playing in the CBI.

Denver was snubbed by the NIT and concluded their season at 22 victories without a postseason trip.

The year is also over for Richmond.

A quick Purple Aces primer.

There's less than 48 hours of turnaround for Princeton make their way to Evansville, IN and take on the host Purple Aces in the first round of the 2012 College Basketball Invitational.

I'm hustling to get to the game while simultaneously arranging a "Know! Your! Foe" Q&A, but in the meantime a quick preview of this Missouri Valley Conference opponent can be found after the jump.

Princeton at Evansville in CBI.

It is official: Princeton will visit Evansville on Tuesday, March 13th in the first round of the CBI.

There was a full bracket posted on the Gazelle Group site that I saw but it was subsequently made private. About an hour later, the CBI re-posted the same field.

Game is at 8:00 pm ET and being broadcast by HDNet.

Full bracket after the jump.

Selection Sunday News:

Welcome to Selection Sunday, where Northwestern is playing the waiting game.

Georgetown is hosting a free party today where you can watch the bracket's reveal with the team.

Based on a pair of late night results I've made some additional adjustments to my second round of NIT projections that were posted yesterday evening. If Princeton is heading to the CBI or CIT instead, you'll want to keep a constant eye here for opponents and potential matchups.

Will Venable is making his case.

We'll be back tonight with information on where all the Carril Cradle and Ivy League teams are headed. I hope you remembered to set your clocks ahead one hour!

Postseason chances: NIT-picking?

Does Princeton have an honest chance of making it into the 2012 NIT? That was the question I attempted to answer on Wednesday night, but with the picture ever-changing due to conference tournament results I wanted to take one more crack at this possibility prior to Selection Sunday.

For this step-by-step exercise I’m using Ken Pomeroy’s rankings.

Before you click through, realize that Princeton has dipped from 84th to 91st in Pomeroy as of this morning. I opt to write "dipped" instead of "dropped" because this is the result of teams passing the Tigers by winning games since Tuesday not because of drastic changes to the Princeton resume.

Here we go again...

19 answers from 2011-12.

On October 17th of last year I wrote a long piece asking 19 questions that in turn previewed this new iteration of the Princeton Tigers.

(You might want to read that before going any further.)

With the regular season concluded a reader wisely suggested that I revisit these queries and see what the answers ended up being.

Agree? Disagree? Add your own answers and observations in the comments.

Saturday News:

Oregon State (19-14) fell 72-61 to Arizona in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals.

I called it! Fairfield will host Yale in the CIT on Wednesday night. Stags head coach Sydney Johnson is a finalist for the Ben Jobe Award.

Denver's Joe Scott is under consideration for the 2012 Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award. Scott makes a compelling argument for the Pioneers' inclusion in the NIT.

Should Northwestern keep Bill Carmody? The debate begins.

Big Apple Buckets updates their NIT projections. I'll do a second (and probably final) run at the numbers tonight.

A reunion between Chris Young and the New York Mets continues to look likely.

Gary Walters is no fan of one-and-done players in the NCAA Tournament.

The New Orleans Hornets signed former Cornell center Jeff Foote to a 10 day contract. Foote had four points and four rebounds in his first game off the bench.

Princeton's shot selection - updated!

Brian from Hoya Prospectus generated an update to this post from late December of last year.

After the jump you can view a shot selection chart for the entire regular season broken down into five separate columns: Dunks, Layups, Two Point Jumpers, Three Point Jumpers and Free Throws.

There are also separate charts for just Ivy games and just non-conference affairs.

Some interesting numbers. What do you see?

Can't thank Brian enough for doing this.

Coach Mitch Henderson - 3/9/12.

Tigers head coach Mitch Henderson and princetonbasketball.com editor Jon Solomon were able to squeeze in an interview today at Jadwin Gym discussing the final three games of the regular season against Yale, Brown and Penn.

A bigger picture look at the year as a whole will follow after the postseason concludes but on this afternoon the pair reviewed this trio of victories in great detail.

Amid the conversation Solomon and Henderson also talked about if Denton Koon had to fight through the proverbial "freshman wall," the delay prior to Saturday night's game, deciding to start all three seniors against Penn, something Henderson learned during his first season at the helm, if attempts are being made to lobby the NIT for a bid and how the team is using their time before matchups are revealed on Sunday night.

This extended, exclusive Q&A is 20:00+ in length.

If you have questions for future interviews, please feel free to send them here.

Friday News:

Friday, March 9th
Oregon State (9) vs. Arizona (4) - 9:10 pm ET - Pac-12 Tournament - FSN

Up four with the ball twice in the final three minutes, Northwestern (18-13) went scoreless the rest of regulation and in an agonizing overtime were doubled up by Minnesota at the Big 10 Tournament. The 75-68 defeat likely ruins the Wildcats' hopes for an NCAA Tournament at-large entry.

Georgetown (23-8) dropped a double OT thriller to Cincinnati, 72-70. Five missed free throws were costly to the Hoyas. Our friends at Hoya Prospectus crunch the numbers.

If you had Oregon State (19-13) as the last member of the Carril Cradle still playing come Friday, please raise your hand. The Beavers built a 13 point halftime lead and then had to come from eight back to stun top seed Washington by a pair at the Pac-12 Tournament. Robinson said this result might be the biggest win he's had, including his playing days.

The career of Doug Davis and Princeton's season are both on hold, but the Tigers certainly finished strong.

It appears Judson Wallace is suffering from gastroenteritis.

Wallace's college teammate Will Venable doubled off of the Rangers' Yu Darvish in his first major league outing. After the game Venable - who is striving for more consistency from his swing this year - and Darvish had decidedly different views of this hit.

The senior season of Princeton recruit Edo Lawrence concluded with Canterbury's loss in the New England Tournament's quarterfinal round.

Future Tiger Mike Washington, Jr. ended the year as WESCO 3A's second leading scorer.

Big Apple Buckets has updated their NIT projections. This coverage even made the Wall Street Journal. Nicely done, mister.

After initially being placed on paid administrative leave, former Princeton and Georgetown assistant Robert Burke officially resigned as head coach of Mount St. Mary's.

Cincinnati 72 Georgetown 70 (2OT).

Box Score

Postgame audio - Coach John Thompson III, Henry Sims & Jason Clark:

As they had done one day previous against Pitt, Georgetown (23-8) was able to slowly pull away from Cincinnati (23-9) in the second half of this afternoon's Big East Tournament quarterfinal, leading 48-37 following a pair of Jason Clark free throws with 9:11 left.

However, unlike their last time out, the Hoyas were unable to counteract a final run for their opposition. Disrupting the day’s ebb and flow, a nine point lead went down to four rapidly and emphatically on a fantastic play where Yancy Gates stole the ball, passed backwards to Cashmere Wright on a break and still heading forward Wright lofted a diagonal pass for the alley oop dunk.

The Bearcats moved ahead late in regulation on a Gates tip follow for the first time since the 8:54 point of the first frame.

I’m not sure the Georgetown coaches and players would agree, but from a sheer entertainment standpoint this is where the tense, dramatic fun ramped up exponentially.
