Wednesday News:

The relationship between Ian Hummer and his father is the crux of a Yahoo! Sports profile on the Princeton senior forward.

Yahoo! also ran a full Ivy League preview yesterday.

It is unlikely you will make it all the way through this piece on the relationship between Richmond coach Chris Mooney and a former manager without getting teary-eyed.

Judson Wallace scored eight points on 2-10 shooting and grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds in 22 minutes of play off the bench as FC Barcelona defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 99-85.

While the visiting team played without star Dirk Nowitzi, it was the third straight victory for the top team in Spain over an NBA foe. Wallace did not see action in the first quarter but was a significant contributor the rest of the way with a team-high five assists including a pair of no look perimeter passes that set up three point shots for teammates.

The Princeton alum recorded a left wing three, a rebound follow tipping the ball away from the Mavs' Shawn Marion and a trio of free throws.

Elsewhere in Europe, Kareem Maddox is off to a "dream start" with Newcastle.

J. Richey Nash, who earned a varsity letter as a member of the Tigers in the 1986-87 season, is the writer, star and co-director of a new film titled "Hitting the Cycle" that is making its premiere this week.

La di da di. Georgetown's Midnight Madness will feature Doug E. Fresh.

A prospect from Nevada chose Harvard over Stanford, Princeton, Cal, UC Santa Barbara and Lehigh.

The Crimson have adjusted their roster for the upcoming season. Officially absent are Kyle Casey, Brandyn Curry and junior Matt Brown.

Data has been entered, models have been run and the exhaustive/exhausting 14-Game Tournament 2012-13 Ivy League preview has been posted.

Georgetown's John Thompson III says that the Hoya's new on-campus athletic facility will happen in the "near future."

Oregon State head man Craig Robinson popped up on the campaign trail again, this time in Ohio.

Kareem Maddox followed up a 14 point, nine rebound effort with his best game yet for the undefeated Newcastle Eagles.

The Princeton basketball team makes a very brief cameo at the 17:40 mark of Outside The Lines' piece on paralyzed Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand.

Jeremy Lin is reportedly in talks with Harvard on creating a co-licensed line of merchandise.

Thursday News:

Find of the week goes to Brian Earl for this scouting report his father gave him of Rutgers' attempts to prepare for Bill Bradley and the rest of the 1964-1965 Princeton Tigers. Of course, Bradley scored 35 points in this game and the orange and black led by 27 at halftime. So much for scouting reports!

The Padres' season concluded last night with a 7-6 win at Milwaukee. For the year Will Venable hit .264 in 148 games (equalling his career high) with 26 doubles, eight triples, nine home runs and 24 stolen bases. His strikeout/game ratio also dropped for the third straight season.

Georgetown's John Thompson III delivered an encouraging message at Monday's Coaches 4 Character program.

The Daily Princetonian recaps the Tigers' trip to Spain, with quotes from Chris Clement.

In his most recent outing Chris Young (4-8) threw 6.2 innings of solid baseball, but included in his eight hits surrendered were three solo home runs as New York lost 3-0 at Milwaukee. Young, who is looking to stay healthy, received a significant financial bonus for exceeding 100 innings pitched on the season.

A center from Kentucky has selected William & Mary over apparent finalists Bucknell, Princeton and Rice.

Denver will show up on the ESPN family of networks at least three times in 2012-13.

A home game with Air Force has been added to the Richmond schedule.



Wednesday News:

Former Tiger Noah Savage is the subject of a lengthy feature focusing on the life of an aspiring stand-up comedian.

Georgetown's Henry Sims will join John Shurna at the New York Knicks' training camp.

Fairfield is set to open the Preseason NIT at Virginia, with a potential matchup versus Penn in the next round.

Chris Denorfia and Will Venable have formed a potent right field platoon for the Padres.

Chris Young was among the Mets who met with families from Tuesday’s Children prior to Tuesday's game.

Tuesday News:

Princeton is back on campus, and as you can see from the above video, very thankful to those who made their Spain trip possible.

Northwestern's John Shurna signed a one year deal with the Knicks.

A guard from New Jersey has selected Oregon State.

Will Venable drove in three for San Diego in yesterday's victory over St. Louis. The Padres have won 14 of their last 18 games.

The landscape of both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 Ivy League men's basketball seasons have potentially changed significantly with the news that Harvard co-captain and top returning scorer Kyle Casey will withdraw from school for a year after being embroiled in an academic cheating scandal. Fellow co-captain Brandyn Curry has also been implicated but has yet to make a decision on his future.



Friday News:

Princeton's concluded their exhibition series in Spain with a 1-3 record, falling 79-76 to Club Melilla Baloncesto. You can see a full box score here.

Four players found double figures once again for the orange and black, and Will Barrett had his second straight double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Lone starting guard Chris Clement scored 18 without a turnover.

The Tigers, who were outpaced 27-17 in the first quarter, shot 4-25 from three point range, just 1-12 after intermission. I'll look more at the estadísticas de Espana in a separate post. In the meantime, a single play from the game is embedded below.

Former Princeton and current Fairfield assistant coach Martin Bahar is raising money for the 2012 Light The Night walk, which supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Bahar's sister Madeleine suffered from plasma cell leukemia and passed away in 2009 at the age of 25. Thursday News:

Princeton es en Espana, with Los Tigres' first game coming tomorrow versus Assignia Manresa of Liga ACB, who went 15-19 last season in their country's top division.
