Monday News:

Michelle Obama spoke at a fundraiser in Princeton yesterday and attendees included her brother Craig, Mitch Henderson and Steve Mills along with current players Chris Clement and Mack Darrow.

The previous day Craig Robinson visited an Obama campaign office in Philadelphia.

As each mentioned via Twitter, Tiger recruits Spencer Weisz and Pete Miller were both on campus this past weekend for their respective official visits.

It looks like paying for parking at Jadwin Gym for basketball games, which was cast off early into last season, is back for the entirety of the 2012-13 slate. The information published by Princeton's Transportation & Parking Services was in error. There's no charge for basketball parking this season, I'm happy to report.

Chris Young made perhaps his final home start at Citi Field yesterday and while Young will likely end his campaign winless in Queens, he again turned in a performance worthy of victory. Young threw six innings of five hit baseball, allowing one earned run while walking two and striking out five. With a walk off single in the bottom of the ninth, the Mets would sweep Miami 3-2.

Northwestern guard JerShon Cobb was suspended from the Wildcats for a year "due to violations of team policy." He will remain enrolled in school.

Bill Carmody joined WGN Radio alongside Athletic Director Jim Phillips.

A forward from Nevada has trimmed his list of potential schools to six, including Princeton.

Princeton Day School product Davon Reed has committed to Miami.

As you've likely heard by now, Shirley Tilghman will step down as president of Princeton in June.

Before she concludes her term, Tilghman will meet with the Princeton Football Association about issues that could also impact basketball such as transfers, "likely" letters and academic standards for athletes.



Tuesday News:

Princeton is back on campus, and as you can see from the above video, very thankful to those who made their Spain trip possible.

A guard from New Jersey has selected Oregon State.

Will Venable drove in three for San Diego in yesterday's victory over St. Louis. The Padres have won 14 of their last 18 games.

The landscape of both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 Ivy League men's basketball seasons have potentially changed significantly with the news that Harvard co-captain and top returning scorer Kyle Casey will withdraw from school for a year after being embroiled in an academic cheating scandal. Fellow co-captain Brandyn Curry has also been implicated but has yet to make a decision on his future.



Wednesday News:

Princeton's third game in Spain was a 94-72 loss to Lucentum Alicante. You can see a full box score here. The Tigers were outscored in all four quarters.

Four players found double figures for the orange and black, including Will Barrett with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The hosts shot 56.5% from the floor and knocked down 13 three pointers. Lucentum Blogging gathered some more information about the game, which I've translated.

Tomorrow Princeton plays its final contest overseas versus Club Melilla Baloncesto of LEB Oro.

Wisconsin forward Luke Worthington opted for BYU over fellow finalists Davidson, Princeton and Penn.

Thursday News:

Princeton es en Espana, with Los Tigres' first game coming tomorrow versus Assignia Manresa of Liga ACB, who went 15-19 last season in their country's top division.

Northwestern's already big (numerically and vertically) freshman class got even bigger with the late addition of 6'10" Aaron Liberman.

Friday News:

Projections for Ian Hummer and other standout returning players for 2012-13 have been calculated.

Chris Young (3-6) was tagged for three home runs in a dreadful 13-0 loss by the Mets to Miami. Young allowed seven earned runs on seven hits in 4.1 innings of work.

Will Venable leads the Padres in hitting with runners in scoring position.

T.J. Bray suited up over the weekend at the Milwaukee Summer Pro-Am. Jimmy Sherburne did not.

This is intriguing: A very tall Australian mentions in passing he has been contacted by Princeton.

Not only did Will Venable come off the bench to drive in what would be the game-winning run (video) for San Diego yesterday, he also made a spectacular extra innings catch two days prior you really must see.

The big news out of the town just north of the one I'm currently in was that the highest-rated prospect in a decade committed to Northwestern.

Like the Tigers, Richmond also will be heading overseas in August.

He never played in college due to injury, but being hobbled actually set in motion the start of a relationship for Brian Elbogen, who got married last weekend. Aw.

Did you hear a former Harvard center is using the NCAA's graduate school eligibility option to play a final season at Boston College?
