Friday News:

MCCC vs. Columbia JV - 2:00 pm ET game postponed.

With a 63-48 win at Louisiana-Monroe, Denver (15-4) has their best DI record through 19 games in school history.

Fairfield (10-9) won its second straight, 75-63 over St. Peter's. After the game Sydney Johnson answered a trio of general questions.

Making 20 of 24 second half free throws, Oregon State (12-7) ended a 13 game losing streak versus UCLA.

A center from Arizona is a name to keep tabs on. This 2013 recruit says Princeton has made him their top target for his class.

The latest Big Apple Buckets Power Poll is out. In the interest of full disclosure, I voted Wagner first and Princeton eighth.

Unfortunately the Tigers have to settle for runner-up status in another key recruiting battle. A point guard from DC who was deciding between Princeton and George Washington has pledged to the Colonials.

GW was cruel to Richmond (11-8) as well, besting the shorthanded Spiders by 18.

Trailing by two at halftime, Northwestern (12-6) was blown away by Wisconsin after intermission. The Badgers made six of seven three point attempts once play resumed on their way to a 77-57 final.

It is time for Geoff Petrie to regain his touch as GM of the Sacramento Kings.

In Evanston Northwestern (12-5) got the signature win they were looking for, knocking off #6 Michigan State, 81-74.

Richmond (11-7) rolled to a 19 point halftime lead and beat Temple for the third straight time at home, 76-65.

Arizona State handed Oregon State (11-7) a disappointing setback in Tempe by 10.

Georgetown visits St. John's. Hopefully I'm on a train to MSG when this post goes live.

Both Joe Scott and his staff will be wearing sneakers on the sidelines when Denver hosts Western Kentucky today.

Around the Ivy League: Yale (11-4 / 1-0) finished on a 13-3 run in the final 3:10 to pass Brown (5-12 / 0-1) in the final minute. Penn (9-9 / 2-0) swept their first conference road trip with a 64-52 decision over Cornell (6-10 / 1-1), 64-52. Dartmouth (4-13 / 0-1) ended a six game losing streak by beating Longwood, 83-67. Harvard (14-2 / 1-0) concluded non-conference play with their 23rd straight home win, a 21 point victory over George Washington.

There have been plenty of updates on 2012 Princeton recruits Hans Brase and Michael Washington, Jr. but little on 7'2" center Edo Lawrence. I did some digging yesterday and the best I could find was this report on a game from mid-December.

Denver (12-3) prevailed 53-50 at Arkansas State.

Cracking 90 points for the seventh time this season, Oregon State (11-4) defeated Cal in Corvallis.

Fairfield visits Siena tonight.

One Rattler went to scout Princeton in person on Friday night.

It was not pretty, but Georgetown (12-1) scored the final eight points of a 49-40 win over Providence.

Denver (11-3) was upended by UALR at home, 66-59.

Washington State held off a late Oregon State (10-4) rally, keeping the Beavers winless in the Pac-12.

Fairfield starts the new year with Canisius at home.

Penn State visits Northwestern tonight.

Around the Ivy League: Dartmouth (3-11) lost their fourth straight, 65-61 versus Holy Cross. Despite shooting 11-21 from three point range, Yale (8-4) fell by 20 at #10 Florida. Missing two shots to tie in the final 12 seconds, Cornell (4-8) stayed winless on the road after a 63-60 defeat at Bucknell. Harvard (12-1) came from 10 down at the break to record a very nice 74-69 win over St. Joe's.
