Postseason chances, Sunday edition.

Building off of our Friday and Saturday updates, here's a third and most likely final look at potential College Basketball Invitational and College Insider Tournament teams.

NIT-ology and The NIT Bracket Project have not been updated for Sunday, March 14th, so some of the teams listed may be bumped up to the National Invitational Tournament's 32 school field.

While I'll be back after the NCAA Selection Show with news of Georgetown, Richmond and Cornell's destinations, I urge you to please follow the site on Twitter for frequent postseason updates about the NIT, CBI and CIT all evening.

The Tigers' RPI remains steady at 132 on Sunday.

Western Kentucky 21-13 (131)
Princeton 20-8 (132)
Oregon 16-16 (137)

Hofstra 18-14 (145)
Nebraska 15-18 (150)

Seattle 17-14 (193)
South Dakota 17-9 (219) CIT - Great West champ
Houston Baptist 12-20 (326)

Creighton, George Mason and Appalachian State have all announced they'll host three of the CIT's eight home games next week. Marshall has a conditional deal to play their first three CIT games at home if they don't get an NIT bid. A fifth CIT slot goes to the Great West tournament champion, South Dakota.

Northern Colorado will host a CIT game. This article also says Loyola Marymount will host a CIT game, but I can not find confirmation of this elsewhere.

That leaves either nine or 10 slots. For whatever it is worth, the guesses on Mason Blog for who George Mason will play in the CIT are "Rider, Princeton, Buffalo, or maybe Duquesne."

Illinois State expects a CBI or CIT bid if the NIT doesn't call.

Nevada is another probable CIT team if the NIT overlooks them. I've added the Wolfpack above.

Missouri State expects an invite from a tournament tonight.

Defending champion Oregon State has a serious chance to defend their CBI title.

Seattle is "avidly pursuing" a postseason bid.

Indiana State feels positive about their chances of landing in the NIT, CBI or CIT.

Eastern Kentucky is another school campaigning for the CBI and CIT.

Western Michigan has postseason interest, but the money for a home game might not be there.

11 teams are crossed off above. Washington State, Nebraska, Georgia and Bradley will almost certainly not accept postseason bids. Michigan has no interest in playing outside of the NIT. Same with South Carolina.

Western Kentucky will only accept a NIT bid. Same for Wright State.

Ohio won the MAC tournament in OT over Akron, giving them an NCAA auto bid.

Houston Baptist lost in the Great West tournament to South Dakota.

USC is ineligible for postseason play.

Two CBI bids look secure - Green Bay and George Washington 16-14 (149).

Getting a little nervous now. Lots of spots filling up. I will be a little upset/disappointed if they match us up against Harvard in the first round. While it's better than not playing, it is not very exciting either. At least let it be in Jadwin if that's the case.

Surprised Harvard was forced/chose to play "down" into the CIT rather than the CBI. Quite worrisome for the Tigers...

Rumor has it Hofstra will play in the CBI. Perhaps they would like some visitors from Mercer County?

Jon Solomon said,

CBI so far:

UW-Green Bay
George Washington
Colorado State
Morehead State
IUPUI
Akron
Oregon State (rumored)
Hofstra (rumored)

That's half the field.

Interesting. I don't think there's a "holdup" though. The past two years the CBI brackets came out around 2:00 am ET. Just how it goes.

Jon Solomon said,

VCU in the CBI. So is Indiana State. That's 10 of 16. Hope the Tigers can play at Hofstra instead of, say, Iona.

R.W. Enoch, Jr. said,

chicolbball "confirms" VCU suspicions. If VCU is begging for a home game, and Iona wants to play Hofstra, then Princeton in Richmond (my hometown!) seems like a possible outcome.
