Wow.

John Thompson III describes Georgetown's final possession:

We wanted to bring Roy up and then bring him back down, to tell you the truth. While (the play) was evolving he had options to set a couple of on-ball screens, we did know that their big guy would be sitting in the middle of the lane, so we wanted to set a couple of on-balls and have him roll off and get a shot, but then he just made a basketball decision. The clock was running down, but he knows he can make that shot. That's not a fluke, that's not a shocker, that's not a once-in-a-lifetime thing that Roy makes that shot. If you leave him open he has shown every day in practice and this year that he can make that shot."

Update: Video now synched with Rich Chvotkin's radio call.

Does this mean there's a chance Zach Finley will learn to shoot from outside?

Stuart,

Great minds think alike.

There's a reason Carril, Carmody, Thompson, Scott and Johnson all run the pre-game drill where every player in uniform attempts multiple three point shots, regardless of shooting ability.

If defenses keep sagging off of Finley and Finley keeps working on his shot...
