Thursday News:

MCCC vs. Ocean - 2:00 pm ET
Georgetown vs. Alabama - 9:30 pm ET - ESPN2

Harvard vs. Vermont - 7:00 pm ET

In addition to our recap, read about Princeton's win over Lafayette on goprincetontigers.com, in the Trentonian, in the Trenton Times, in the Daily Princetonian, in the Express-Times and on goleopards.com.

Ian Hummer's second half dunk was captured quite nicely here.

There's a profile of Mitch Henderson in the Daily Princetonian as well.

Pete Carril will not return to the Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach but could rejoin the team as an advisor.

Utah State's 33 game home winning streak is over. Denver (5-1) went into the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum and came away with the 67-54 victory.

Richmond (5-2) easily handled William & Mary, 92-61.

No deals yet for the Tigers' visit to Drexel, but there's a decent Groupon available for both when the Dragons host Fairfield and the Princeton women. Take advantage!

Dan Mavraides scored eight points off the bench in Aris' Eurocup victory over GasTerra Flames.

Princeton recruit Mike Washington, Jr. had 26 points in Oak Harbor's season opener.

Alabama hosts Georgetown tonight as part of the Big East/SEC Challenge.

Alex Wolff was speaking on the Princeton campus yesterday.

Around the Ivy League: Dartmouth (2-5) fell by three to New Hampshire. Sean McGonagill scored 19 as Brown (4-4) surprised Rhode Island, 65-56.

Amusing moment during WPRB post game recap. The announcer reported that New Hampshire was on the verge of upsetting Harvard!!! Latest early season Sagarin rating lists the Crimson at #7, Princeton at #244.

1. The Trenton Times photograph has the Tigers in their road uniforms. Shouldn't the caption clearly specify that the photo is not from the game covered? (The Express Times was punctilious with the caption to its similarly time&space-displaced photo.)

2. I have to give a shout-out to Joe Scott. So far, his Pioneers look to be very good with wins over St. Mary's (four of five starters returning from a good NCAA tourney team) and now Utah State in Logan (where the Aggies were 85-2 over the last couple of years). Utah State coach Morrill said that UD "put on a clinic." Sure sounds like a Scott team when things are going well.

3. The Princetonian profile of Coach Henderson had a couple of interesting insights about contrasts with Sydney Johnson--MH spends more time on offense and uses Brian Earl a lot on defensive stuff to maintain continuity, and MH is much more specific in coaching individual players on what they need to do compared to SJ.

I can't speak for the Express-Times but today's Trenton Times did not run the photo of Hummer (or any picture) in their print edition. Guess they decided to compliment the on-line version of the piece with a file photo of Hummer from last season's win at the Palestra.

Glad things are going well for Denver. Saw Northwestern take Ga Tech apart. Fun to watch the offense when it is run really well.
