In the interest of transparency, the NCAA released their full seed list for this year's bracket. Interesting to see the s-curve is no longer in use and also to learn what teams were bumped up/down one line to make the matchups work.
Three other "Carril Cradle" teams will participate in the postseason as Denver got a very favorable seed and a NIT home game against Ohio, Richmond plays at Bryant in the CBI's first round and Fairfield visits Kent State for the CIT.
Scoring 11 points off the bench, Dan Mavraides helped Juve Caserta surprise Montepaschi Siena. There's video highlights here.
Princeton recruit Steven Cook was named Illinois Class 4A Honorable Mention All-State.
Did Kareem Maddox being named BBL Player of the Month for a second time possibly get lost in the shuffle?
If Bill Carmody is fired at Northwestern, it is unlikely he'd have to wait long for a new job. A list of theoretical replacements includes just about everyone you know.
Syracuse/Georgetown III wasn't pretty. In fact at times it approached the antithesis of beautiful, but it certainly was memorable.
The Hoyas came from down 12 in the second half to reach overtime on a pair of Otto Porter free throws but never once regained a lead they lost midway through the opening frame.
Trailing by three with :14.4 left, Georgetown (25-6) was unable to get a tying shot off. John Thompson III drew up a play that would run Porter off a screen but Porter became trapped on the far wing as Syracuse (25-8) chewed up on the arc defensively and threw an off-kilter pass away to the Orange's C.J. Fair.
"[The Orange] played it well," Thompson III acknowledged.
Fair missed a pair of potentially game-sealing free throws with three ticks on the clock but Jabril Trawick's running 35' shot at the buzzer was off target.
Syracuse had survived to attain their final Big East title game despite 1-6 shooting from the line in overtime. The Hoyas' offense stagnated with 3:36 to go in overtime as their point guard Markel Starks fouled out via a bump on a drive.
Postgame audio from Coach John Thompson III, Otto Porter and Markel Starks plus the rest of this recap can be found after the jump.

(5) Syracuse vs. (1) Georgetown
Big East Tournament - 7:00 pm ET - ESPN
Georgetown (25-5) used a balanced attack to defeat Cincinnati in the Big East Tournament, meaning the Hoyas and Syracuse will play yet again tonight with a trip to the finals on the line.
John Thompson III is a finalist for the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award.
There's a very good piece on Otto Porter in Sports Illustrated.
Richmond (18-14) was leading by three over Charlotte at the Atlantic 10 Tournament with :04.7 seconds left. I'd try and describe what happened next but the video of the bizarre finish embedded below shows it all.
Both top-seeded Louisiana Tech and second seed Denver (21-9) were shocked in the WAC Tournament quarterfinals. The Pioneers never led in their 72-68 loss to Texas State.
The end also came for Reggie Hearn and Northwestern (13-19). The Wildcats fell behind 11-0 and were unable to catch Iowa.
Georgetown was steady for both the opening 15 minutes and the closing 15 minutes of the Big East Tournament quarterfinals' opening game. It was more than enough to sandwich a shakier middle section.
"In the first half we were letting them get open shots that they're going to make," said Hoya head coach John Thompson III. "In the second half we were much more attentive and then our guys did a very decent job of guarding their penetration."
Thompson's squad outscored Cincinnati 24-8 to start the contest and closed on a 31-10 run after the Bearcats had taken their first lead since the extremely early-going.
Postgame audio from Coach John Thompson III, Otto Porter, D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Markel Starks plus the rest of this recap can be found after the jump.

Oregon State (14-18) was knocked out of the Pac-12 Tournament by Colorado, 74-68.
Here's the latest collection of videos from various corners of the Princeton basketball family. Above, some Penn plays from last night's game at The Palestra.

Ian Hummer made the Honor Roll of the most recent Ivy League Weekly Release.
It was a wonderful Saturday for all other branches of the Carril coaching tree. Georgetown (24-5) took the regular season Big East title with a rivalry-concluding 61-39 triumph over Syracuse. Hoya Prospectus looks at the numbers.
By coming out ahead 64-58 at Colorado, Oregon State (14-17) gets to play the Buffaloes again on Wednesday in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.
Richmond (18-13) decimated Duquesne in the home regular season finale for the Spiders, 79-55.
You know Denver (21-8) has won 17 of 18 since New Year's Eve, right? The Pioneers routed Louisiana Tech at home 78-54, giving Joe Scott's team a share of the WAC regular season title. There are some great photos of the game here.
It hasn't been pretty but it doesn't need to be. Fairfield (19-14) advanced to the MAAC semifinals with a 43-42 win over second seed Rider.
The regular season ends for Northwestern at Michigan State.
Around the Ivy League: Harvard (18-9 / 10-3) took the conference title with a 65-56 decision over Cornell (13-18 / 5-9). Yale (14-17 / 8-6) earned third place in the Ancient Eight, topping Penn (9-21 / 6-7) by 14. The Dartmouth (9-19 / 5-9) campaign concluded with a 64-58 victory over last place Columbia (12-16 / 4-10).

Is Jadwin Gym the best home court advantage you've never heard about?
Tiger assistant Dan Geriot is an 11 seed in this year's Runway To The Fashionable 4.
Bill Bradley (who attended the Princeton women's victory last night) is part of Sport Illustrated's "best of the NCAA tournament by decade." There's also a great picture of Bradley I hadn't seen before in the new SI.
Princeton recruit Steven Cook went nuts (in a good way) for New Trier in the Class 4A Glenbrook North Sectional final.
Central Catholic came from behind to top Jesuit in the OSAA 6A boys semis despite 18 from future Tiger Khyan Rayner.
Serra never recovered from the foul trouble of Henry Caruso in their Northern California Open Division playoff loss to Sheldon.
Fairfield (18-14) got by St. Peter's in the MACC Tournament. Next up for the Stags is second seed Rider tonight.
A win in their regular season finale against Syracuse gives Georgetown the Big East regular season title. Elsewhere Oregon State plays at Colorado, Richmond hosts Duquesne on Senior Night and Denver goes for a share of the WAC crown when they host Louisiana Tech (blizzard permitting).
Around the Ivy League: An 8-0 run in the final minute propelled Harvard (17-9 / 10-3) to a 56-51 home win over Columbia (12-15 / 4-9). Miles Cartwright scored the final eight Penn (9-20 / 6-6) points, including a pair of free throws with less than a second remaining to top Brown (12-15 / 6-7) by two. Dartmouth (8-19 / 4-9) got a career high 28 from Gabas Maldunas in their 76-62 victory versus Cornell (13-17 / 5-8).
princetonbasketball.com was founded on April 28th, 1998 in an attempt to provide fans of the Princeton Tigers and Ivy League basketball with the best on-line source for up-to-date news and information. We have since expanded to launch a companion site, Georgetown Basketball News.
As these sites have continued to grow we have increased our coverage to include additional teams with Princeton connections - the Richmond Spiders, Denver Pioneers, Oregon State Beavers, Fairfield Stags and Mercer County Community College Vikings - plus former Tigers playing professional baseball and basketball all over the world. This site is not directly affiliated with the Friends of Princeton Basketball, Princeton University or the Princeton athletic department.
